Just a Question...
Who her also plays MTG, and before someone says that they think it is a bad game, I will say Wizards could make improvements to sealed products (not format), but it is overall a great game.

How much do you earn?
I'm curious about two things.

First, how much money do you earn a year, fellow webDippers? What's your salary? Second, how many of you are slightly uncomfortable answering the first question? (and why?)

Diplomacy II Air force Units
I found out that there are rules for the Diplomacy II map that has air units:

Does anyone know of an online site to play the Diplomacy II map with air units?

##PROPOSAL 6.1: Point two cannons toward the sea, one pointing inland.

##PROPOSAL 6.2: Build a WATCH TOWER.

Can we put Proposal 6.0 to a vote yet, O Speaker?
Jamiet99uk (865 D)
21 May 16 UTC
(Or, will someone second Proposal 6.0?)
I will
##SECOND: Proposal 6.1

##AMEND:
PROPOSAL 6.0.2: Quarantine
Quarantine the Village and a two hex radius around the Village, allowing for an increased production in the structures within the radius.

I'll have a work allocations prop out in an hour or two.
We also need to decide on the Matthews vaccination idea.

@Jakar: Would it be possible for Matthew to use some of your sick in order to come u with a vaccine to prevent it from spreading further?
Also, feel free to vote on anything that's been seconded. We don't have that much time.
bo_sox48 (5202 DMod(G))
21 May 16 UTC
@Franz ... how do you feel about sending your slaves within the wall as well? I know it will cut your production drastically, but if you feel strongly about staying on your property, you should be able to subsist for the time being.

As for your silver source, do you think he could help possibly open up relations with Playdipia? If our charter was abandoned, we are probably going to have to find some way to get in touch with them anyway and hopefully they don't kill us.

##SECOND Prop. 6.0.2.

I think we should go through with Matthew's vaccination but we should also acknowledge that, coming from the mainland, we are only partially vulnerable to smallpox. Odds are, we won't all drop dead from it like the natives.

##VOTE YES 6.1.

How many resources are watchtowers going to take?
CommanderByron (801 D(S))
22 May 16 UTC
Franz- I can send my slaves within the walls but since I'm being taxed I demand payment if you use them for any work. I demand 200 silver for the renting of 6 slaves for 1 phase. Otherwise they'll just sit unused. My contact in Playdipia can't really help us yet, he is but a merchant and his dealings with me are illegal unless I am dissolved of relation to classica.

(I'll get back to you about the tower I'm at work right now, so my notes aren't available)
TrPrado (461 D)
22 May 16 UTC
We taxed Franz?
The Prop to tax Franz failed last phase. Not sure why he would think that.
Blueprints:
Watch Tower- will be built 3 hex block east of the walled capital and will expand the range of the colony 3 blocks eastward. (costs: 20 soldiers for construction as no colonists will work, 2000 wood, and 400 Iron)

Church- increases morale and allows for the spread of mass propaganda. (500 wood, 10 colonists, and 300 Iron)

Would it be possible to convince our colonist to upgrade the village to level 2? since that doesn't require leaving the walls?
Anyways, would a watchtower help with the quarantine at all?
Also, looking at our current supplies, I saw that we had Hunting Dogs. What do they do?
@ Franz: What resources do you currently have available, if we need to trade for food or building supplies? Would you care to donate any resources directly to the colony in our time of need, rather than trading?
Also, fishing done within the walls is a full capacity (60/fisher), while anything outside the walls, like wood gathering or mining is 50%, correct?
bo_sox48 (5202 DMod(G))
22 May 16 UTC
@Franz ... You aren't being taxed nor am I asking to rent the slaves. I am offering to protect them. They are yours; if you don't feel it worthwhile to protect them, that's up to you.
CommanderByron (801 D(S))
22 May 16 UTC
Franz- I have 3000 food and 200 silver. I am willing to donate 2000 food. (When the props were sent to me the tax one was one of the ones sent; or atleast I have it on my ledger as being sent.) My slaves are for rent, but otherwise they will remain within my farm.

(PF- ill break it down:
If you choose to set up a perimeter:
all structures within the perimeter will produce at 75% capacity, all outside will produce at 50% capacity. All work inside the walls will be at 100% but work outside the walls is always 50%.

If you don't set up the perimeter then all work and structures are 50% if outside the walls and 100% inside the walls.

The perimeter will cost you every single soldier and militia.(so you wouldn't be able to build a watchtower.)

I know I already mentioned it so let me look back but I have to find what the watchtower costs.
CommanderByron (801 D(S))

watchtower costs: 20 soldiers for construction as no colonists will work, 2000 wood, and 400 Iron
bo_sox48 (5202 DMod(G))
22 May 16 UTC
@Franz ... that's very generous, we appreciate it. If you need anything from us, please let us know. Once we lift the quarantine we'll find a way to make it up to you.

CB: Thanks for your response. I'm not sure why Prop 5.3 regarding taxation had been sent to you listed as passed. When brainbomb posted his last count, it was listed as failed there. The post in question was on pg 57, on Saturday, May 14th, if you would like to verify.

@ Jakar: Would it be possible for Corporal Matthew to use some of your sick in order to create with a vaccine to prevent this disease from spreading further? Otherwise your entire people might die.
@ Mathews: You said earlier you would like 2 of Jakar's infected and 5 colonists to infect to create your vaccine. If Jakar has 7 infected tribesmen that are wiling to undergo tests, would that be enough to not require us to sacrifice any of our own?
##PROPOSE 6.3, 6.4, 6.5

PROPOSAL 6.5: (Peregrine Falcon); Prevention of disease spreading.
Matthews and Turnbill will deal with the spread of the disease. Matthews since he has experience with this, and Turnbill to assist, keep up the morale of the infected, and administer last rights where needed. Only Matthews and Turnbill will be allowed into the quarantined sections, and only while wearing masks. When they enter and leave quarantined sections, they must change clothes and wash off to decontaminate themselves.
Any of Matthews’ testing will be done in a quarantined tent just outside of the city walls. The test subjects will live in this tent, and not be allowed to leave. No one except for Matthews and Turnbill will be allow to come in contact with the subjects.
The Village will be divided into three zones: the healthy section, where all the healthy colonists will reside; the potentially infected section, a quarantined section where anyone who is thought to have come in contact with the disease will reside; the infected section, a quarantined section where the colonists with symptoms will reside.
Anyone who comes in contact with a native or playdippian shall be treated as a potential infected, and be moved to the potentially infected section.
Anyone displaying symptoms, such as a fever or rash must be moved to the infected section, along with their clothes and bedding.
All healthy colonists must be checked daily by Matthews and Turnbill for symptoms, such as a rash or fever. All colonists must bathe daily and wash their clothes and bedding every two days, to prevent the disease from spreading.
How to deal with the dead will be outlined in another proposal.
Tell Jakar to take similar precautions as us, namely quarantine of the infected and frequent washing. Tell him to burn the smallpox blanket that started this epidemic.

PROPOSAL 6.4: (Peregrine Falcon); Phase 6 Military Allocations.
All Militia and Soldiers will set up a quarantine perimeter of a 2 Hex radius around the Capital. No one is allowed in or out. Any person trying to forcibly enter shall be killed.
In the case of any full-blown attack, whether naval or land-based, against the perimeter or against the capital, all Soldiers and Militia are to abandon the perimeter and retreat to the capital to defend it.

PROPOSAL 6.3: (Peregrine Falcon); Phase 6 Work Allocations.
Buildings:
-Church- 10 colonists (500 wood, 300 iron): increases morale and allows for the spread of mass propaganda
-Barn- 4 colonists (200 wood, 100 Iron): +1000 base food/phase, built over-top of the chicken coup

Colonist count: 170 men (15 militia), 128 women, 4 slaves
14 Building men
10 Iron Mining men: (8 iron/miner)= 80 iron
11 Wood Gatherers: 7 men: (10 wood/gatherer); 4 slaves: (15 wood/gatherer)= 130 wood
8 Women teaching all 78 children, using the textbooks.
150 Colonists fishing within the walls: 120 Women, 124 Men (60 food/fisher)= 14 640 food

~~~
Calculations:
-Total Wood needed for projects: 700 wood
-Total stored wood= 570 wood
-Wood from wood gathering: 130 wood
-Wood left over: 0 wood
-Total Iron needed for projects: 400 iron
-Total stored Iron: 225 iron
-Iron Produced (Automatic at 50%+8*miners): 100+8*10= 180 iron
-Iron left over: 5 iron
-Silver: 680 Silver
-Total food eaten: 18 384 food
-Total food stored+ food from Franz: 1337+ 2000= 3337 food
-Base food Produced: 8250 food (4 barns, 5 lvl2 fields at 75%; 4 lvl1 fields, 1 barn at 50%)
-Food from fishing: 14 640 food
-Franzboost: 412 + 732= 1144 food
-Food left over: 8987 food
(I'm proud of you. Like a bad dad who only comes around once a week to tell you how you've been, I feel proud of all of you.)
It's true that we fed them, but didn't advance at all.
Anyone want to second those Props?
CommanderByron (801 D(S))
22 May 16 UTC
(being we all play webdip, sometimes a phase is meant for re-positioning and adjustment and you don't advance. doesn't mean you are in bad straights just means you have a lot on your hands, and need to rethink moving forward)
Anyone? Am I playing by myself now?
@ Jakar: Would it be possible for Corporal Matthew to use some of your sick in order to create with a vaccine to prevent this disease from spreading further? Otherwise your entire people might die.
@ Mathews: You said earlier you would like 2 of Jakar's infected and 5 colonists to infect to create your vaccine. If Jakar has 7 infected tribesmen that are wiling to undergo tests, would that be enough to not require us to sacrifice any of our own?
I would like to amend 6.5 to say that Matthew and Turnbill stay in the tent along with those quarantined in it. They should be treated as potentially infected as well.
For 6.4, I don't like the idea of mandating a full retreat under an attack. I would rather leave that to Banton.
I'll ##SECOND 6.3.
Gents my service to the colony has come to an End. I am sorry. Someone will have to take my job as scribe.
(I am working all week, and going on vacation at weeks end, I may rejoin in June if you are all still playing!)
Dang. Sorry to see you go BB. I can take over for scribe as well for this phase.
Bo, I disagree about Matthews and Turnbill staying only in the testing tent. We need people to take care of the infected, and who do we have better?
As for mandating a full retreat, we may be expecting a naval attack on the colony. If that happens, we need all our soldiers defending the capital. With the quarantine, we have no soldiers remaining in the city.
Also, hypothetically, if a ship arrives this phase, what would be give to them to send back to the king? Both phases' requests at once? would we expect double one phase?
##PROPOSAL 6.6: Phase 6 Primary requests.
Request 1500 wood, 500 iron.
Send 200 silver back to the king, along with a promise to send 100/phase after the end of our quarantine.
CommanderByron (801 D(S))
GM- I checked, it did not pass, it was sent to me with a note that it didn't pass. Which wasn't what normally happened so I didn't realize. I've corrected it.
Personally, Venus/Aphrodite is my favorite ancient deity. I believe Aphrodite was closer to the original mother goddess then most, plus the planet Venus is bright and beautiful. Or, we could talk about all these YouTube videos that say aliens are coming, are here, etc.
Ban resulting from misunderstanding
A friend of mine, username SeananFinn, was banned while playing a match with myself and others because we were logged into the same computer. The Game Master should know that every player of that match knows one another, and that we did not log onto the same computer, just the same mainframe server at our school at roughly the same time, which has one monitored IP address. We would appreciate it if someone would unban him before the game moves on. Thank you.
