I don't think that's necessary nor productive. I would rather use our resources fortifying our current structure and ensuring that the colonists are in good spirits before rapidly expanding. We have issues to take care of first.

Chaplain Offer- Definitely in support of allowing him to start his ministry. This gap between us and the colonists needs to be remedied.

Hopefully that will satisfy Franz about not seizing his land. Although we'd also need to come up with a Code of Laws, to judge what is illegal or not.

Also, on a different note, I don't think we've actually gotten any food from Franz. He wanted to trade for things like our sole cannon, or silver we didn't had. That does bring up the question of what you need 1750 food for, if you only eat 100/ phase.

Banton- Jakar arrived at our gates panicked and worried. I will allow him to brief the council.

Jakar (In hysteria)- I thought it would help! I thought I could get my people our lands back! I was trying to help my people! I saw your guards protect it, I heard the whispers from Brother Hall and knew it was a weapon. I never thought it would do this much damage. My people are dying, their bodies frail and covered in small red marks. The gods are punishing me for my impure thoughts. Help us kind Classicans, please help us.

Banton- I wish to eject Jakar from our colony immediately and quarantine our people within the city walls. We unfortunately would not be able to farm as effectively (All food gathering is hindered by 50% if you quarantine).

Franz- I agree with Banton regarding the quarantine. I would also like to detail my earnings now: I have been trading frequently with Playdipia, the WTC, and a buyer who wishes to stay anonymous; a request i am honor bound to adhere to.

Chaplain- The people did not see a ship and are worried our king has abandoned us, a quarantine will test their resolve. They are very happy with the second village however I fear that a plague could have devastating effects (I will draw a card at the end of the phase between 2-8 which will determine the initial percent infected should you not handle this appropriately.)

Corporal Mathews- I may be able to counter-act the infection by working on what theoretical scientists back home are calling a "vaccine". Please allow me to try; we can not stay quarantined forever, I can have a vaccine within 2 phases if I can take 2 of Jakar's people an 5 of our own to perform tests.

Chaplain- I can convince 5 colonists that god will acknowledge their sacrifice.

No external projects this phase due to the infection (your people refuse to build when they could be in danger; they will however collect food, and wood through farming and all pre-built structures.

Watch Tower- will be built 3 hex block east of the walled capital and will expand the range of the colony 3 blocks eastward. (costs: 20 soldiers for construction as no colonists will work, 2000 wood, and 400 Iron)

I would volunteer to be a vaccine subject if it would show the people we all intend to survive this. Our greatest fears realized. We can overcome.

@Banton we must issue a quarantine but we cannot allow Jakar to die. We must gather enough food or we also start starving. Assign patrols. Kill anyone infected.

@Jakar kill the infected. Burn everything they own even their belongings and bedding.

@Chaplain. Let them know the scribe is also a volunteer and we will stop this disease.

Banton- allowing an infected man to stay in our colony is a risk we should not take. Jakar must be exiled back to his colony or executed for the crime of theft. Take your pick.

Chaplain- as soon as I get confirmation from the other councilors I will do that.

I am not very happy that Franz started trading with our Playdippian enemies the moment he set up shop.

##PROPOSAL 6.0: Quarantine the colony this phase.

Well now I guess it's all fucked.

Franz- as much as the council may not appreciate my trading with the playdipians I remind the council that my trade earned the colony 500 silver. Nearly 3 times the amount the council produced in 4 phases. So while yes I traded with our enemies I did so in a way that preserved the colony. I also remind the council that the last few phases your administration has encouraged peace and communication between us and our neighbors; has that changed?

Banton- as much as I hate Playdipia I think Franz may have forged us a path to safety. In the current state of our colony we need an advanced ally who can maybe help quell the plague.

So here is a short summary of what we have for us:

• no new resources
• likely lost ship, potentially abandoned by the king(?)
• massive plague, so we can't collect resources

Why not just say 90% of the colony is starving? That's basically where we are gonna be in a week.

(Let me clarify that you aren't in as desperate straight as the situation illustrates, you currently produce 11100 as a base production. This will be cut in half by the plague: so 5550 food auto produced. Then if you commit as many people as possible to food production you could in theory produce the food you need. You'll still receive the 5% buff from Franz, and the buffs from nets and traps. You can also trade, which has been alluded to; simply ask to speak to councilors and see if you can trade.

Cllr Bo_Sox, Cllr TrPrado, let us not panic.

Admiral Banton, perhaps you are right.

Franz, I encourage peace now, but my complaint was your maverick, secretive trading. Who is this "anonymous" trading partner of whom you speak? Would you be willing to declare that it is NOT Mister Hall?

(If you will not make such a declaration, we shall have to assume that's exactly who it is)

Hall is dead. It could however be Julius.

I don't care one bit who Franz trades privately with, though I do believe that we have a chance to use him to open communications with Playdipia in particular. I have no qualms about trading with them if it benefits us, particularly in a time of need.

I do not want to vote to quarantine yet. We have time to come up with a solution that doesn't involve a quarantine, including our attempt to find a vaccine. If that can be done within this phase, then we can avoid this whole plague and do our best to keep Jakar's people that aren't yet infected from coming down with the disease.

(CB, who recommended we bring smallpox blankets? For some reason, I thought you included them as a joke. If that's the case, I think it's really stupid that we're getting punished so much by them.)
