It's the call of the GMs to move the game forward if they want to. Players don't get a say in it. You guys need to ask HR and DO first.

I wasnt quite sure if we were confirming "interest" in doing that, or confirming we were joining a y2k mini game, or what exactly were all confirming here. I figured I'd just make a list of people saying they are confirmed lol

What meme said, it's up to HR/DO, I can understand them wanting to take more time to set things up, hence my offer to host another smaller mostly-vanilla-roles game to start Feb 1st like last time.

you have 8 ppl y2k... why not just get a series of epic maf games going. or if yer really gonna squeeze an extra game in do 10 players and start thursday

I'm not particularly in favour of bringing it forward, as having it ongoing over the Valentine's Day weekend would probably cause a significant drop in activity and take a lot of momentum out of the game, which is why I picked that start date in the first place.

Plus people need breaks from it to stop them getting burnt out, and shoving extra games in would cause there to be too many ongoing Mafia threads again. It's hardly a big gap here - there'd only just be time for a small game to be slotted in to be guaranteed to finish before this one started, as standard games can easily last up to 3 weeks.

I will GM a game for the first 10 people to say ##WOO-HOO in this thread. 36-hour days, 24-hour nights.

36-hour days? That might end up making the game more awkward than fun.

I am in favor of a standard end time to make things consistent.

If the phase over time constantly changes it'll be harder for people to coordinate.

Also, a morning/early-afternoon Day End would likely have a limited turnout, and this may affect the game.

Having a game where Day End time is shifting is likely to confuse players and be manipulated as part of gameplay.

Keeping the Day End consistent makes it easier for players but also much easier to GM well, effectively and, perhaps most importantly, easily.

@ wjessop, ND - having a standard end time favours players from one particular time zone. Having a standard non-24-hour end time is actually more balanced and fair to all players from all parts of the world. Since I am offering to GM the mini-game alone, the main drawback is for me - and I can offer to be awake at all kinds of fucking hours, because my body-clock is fucked at the best of times.
