Hey guys. I'm going to have to bail on this one. It's not going to work with my schedule as I'd only have about a week to play.

Being brutally honest, I'd rather guak pull out -- or pulled out -- based on his participation. guak doesn't really play in the games he signs up to -- this is against the spirit of the game and unfair to the players that do. It's beyond lurking.

I'd much rather guak play and participate -- but he doesn't; it hinders the game and takes up a space that could be used for someone who actually wants to play.

Fluminator is first substitute so he can take Damian's place.

Just because he doesn't post as much as you doesn't mean you can remove him from participating, wjessop. There are minimum standards in place and as long as he meets those he's good to go, or he would be mod killed.

Is he meeting those standards? Is he voting and stuff?

Demon, there's no need to make that leap. I'm not attacking guak, I like guak, I just don't think his play is acceptable. It's not about playing the same as me. Even brand new players like Toemato and Vecna have produced far more content than guak has ever done.

@Jamie: guak barely creeps through meeting the most basic standards, in every game that I've been a part of.

If everyone played mafia like guak, there would be no mafia games.

I feel like that's pretty harsh. Guak does what is necessary and has even been the MVP before (M7).

If everyone played mafia the exact same way then I'd have no interest in it; whether it was like guak, Maniac, or myself. Different playstyles is what makes it interesting.

I agree with you on the principle. I've already said that having one universal playstyle isn't my point.

Sure he is. He makes posts; he has thoughts, and he makes his votes. He might not have the time to make giant walls of text; but posting constantly isn't necessarily any better anyway. Look at y2k last game.

I think guak was one of the better performing townies last game; though that wasn't very hard in all fairness :P

The mafia town is a self governing society. What is and isn't acceptable is determined by the inhabitants.

It's just whether the town should have to vote out guak every game as a Day 1 policy lynch, or if all towns of the mafia world can unite and put a stop to this kind of anti-town behaviour.

I don't remember guak ever being voted out d1 as a policy lynch.

There are many types of play that you might not necessarily like, but have to deal with regardless.

And, he is playing. He's meeting set requirements and generally exceeding them. If you think he needs to do more then advocate to up the amount of necessary posts or w/e bullshit.

I'm happy for the discussion to end here -- I don't see that there's much to discuss. It's my view that guak should participate more, that his current participation is not acceptable, I understand why others may disagree (or that some people are just disagreeable).

Not to say I haven't tried, HR. Nobody else follows along.

Im moving by the end of this month. Dont know exactly when or what i will be able to do afterwards
