I have to say, as much as I would love to jump on Vashta - admittedly, he is our best suspect thus far and an easy target - I think you guys are proving his point by voting for him. He's suspicious, sure, but we don't have a solid case beyond anything more than shaky reasoning. Believe me, I tried to build one. It's hard to say whether or not his intentions are pure at this point, but he wouldn't be the first townie ever to propose a no-lynch day one. Give him the benefit of the doubt, at least for the time being. If he continues masquerading in the way he has so far and shooting down ideas, I will happily vote for him, but we need more.

Sandgoose, I don't know why you would claim. It's not really a joke here. If you actually are the cop, they're bound to block you at least once, and if you're not, you've just made yourself a nightkill target.

I'm holding my no vote. My high scum read is still Vashta but I don't see enough quite yet. We have tons of time and I'll be on for hours tonight and tomorrow. I'm still a little bit unclear on the uclabb case as well, but I'm curious about it, so I'll let it develop.

I assume we are all clear at this point that we should at least visit the idea of lynching on day one?

Read through the thread and figure something out. If you're new to the game, try to pick up on what's going on. Lurking (i.e. not posting anything of substance) is a terrible plan for townies.

When phil_a_s immediately jumped in to defend you, there was some dissonance there. I've already stated what made me question the veracity of his statements. That dissonance is the driving force behind my belief that you and phil are in it together. There is only one way, at this time in the game, that you two work together, and that is if you both know that the other is an alien.

It's not even like he defended you once and moved on, he kept deflecting from you and pointing to uclabb. You were like, oh yeah, uclabb needs be be more closely looked at...

I was referring to my response on uclabb. Phil wanted a lynch, while I was only slightly suspicious.

This sounds remarkably similar to to how you felt before he "defended" me. Also, how is this a defense, he is simply expressing doubt of my guilt, not saying I am innocent. Just because he finds someone else more suspicious than me does not mean we are working together. In fact, defending each other early is an easy way for mafia to get themselves killed after one of them is lynched.

I believe you are simply seeing patterns where there are none, but feel free to mark me as suspicious because I have a different opinion and someone else doesn't want to crucify me.

@YoYo: SK means Serial Killer, it's a role in the game which is currently filled by the android. Any other acronyms you don't know?

WIFOM? Also on the previous topic of discussing our prior experience in mafia, I've played at least a dozen live games at parties and such. This is my first on this site. I'm almost never anyone special (I was Cop one game but that's about it.) When i play, its a hit or miss. I'm usually either killed the first couple of turns or I survive until the end. We'll see how things turn out this game.

I think lynching is so twentieth century. Can't we just float them?

Maybe I am seeing patterns that don't exist. But the thing is, you haven't really refuted any pattern that I've pointed out.
1. You advocated for a no-kill day one
2. You had no solid argument for how that benefitted the town
3. After a nomination to be the one lynched, you were immediately defended by someone with whom you had no ties, and with whom you had no visible connection

Fine, assume phil_a_s simply doesn't want to crucify you (frankly, I don't want to crucify you either) and he voluntarily, just out of the blue, tried to intervene. That is somewhat hard to believe. What sways me is the pure fact that as soon as I typed the vote for you to be lynched, phil_a_s defended you. No question, no pause, just flat out didn't like the idea. It was like MINUTES after I posted. That tells me you and he know each other and have some kind of commitment. Well...there's only one way for that to be true.

I should just point out, that town shouldn't be afraid to use their votes. It's the only weapon most of us have to use and we should use it.
If you vote for someone, it doesn't necessarily mean you're advocating for them to get lynched, it just means you're pressuring them to get reactions, probably because you find them scummy.
See what happened when Vashta was voted 3 times? Useful discussion was generated that can be looked back on once flips start happening.
See what happened when Mintyboy voted Yoyoyo? It sprang him right into action and got reactions.
Town needs to use their votes. It is the best way to get info and with only 2 days we need to get as much as possible.

Speaking of which, I'm debating changing my vote to Sandgoose.

I find Sandgoose's little gambit to be very strange. It does nothing but stir up wifom.

I meant OB's theory, which I find to be based upon flanderization of viewpoints and exaggerating people's reactions (because god damn anyone who finds one person scummy but isn't sure about another) in order to justify a scum read.

Let me go re-read OB's stuff. I haven't had a problem with it yet, but I haven't read his stuff too in depth yet.

A few things:

First, a lot of people haven't talked at all yet. More, such as Jeff Kuta, Mintyboy, and ALEXTREME have talked without saying anything, which is arguably even worse. Speak up, guys! We need people talking if we want to win.

Right now, I'm reading bo and Fluminator as town because they're actively contributing and trying to push conversion in fruitful directions.

I don't see Vashta as particularly scummy, just wrong, but Phil's defense/almost coaching of him is certainly suspicious. I don't think we can draw any conclusions about Sandgoose until he says more, but his whole cop thing was very odd.

I'm keeping my vote on uclabb for now, as I find his poor reasoning and attempts to steer conversation in a fruitless direction suspicions, especially given that he's uclabb. I'd also like to hear more from him, as the "casting votes everywhere" strategy only works if you're around to keep applying pressure.

I urge everyone else to share their reads on people. We need to get this going.
