A Friendly Message From the Mods
This isn't directed at anyone in particular, just some general trends we've been noticing:
1) Please make sure the email in your profile is up-to-date and you check it regularly.
2) Please remember that there is to be *no* communication in gunboat games, no matter how innocuous.
Thanks

Chance calculations, little help?
Example: I throw a 6-sided die 6 times. How many chance do I have to throw at least one 6 in 1 throw? Any calculation I can think of says 100%, but I'm sure as hell there's a chance to not throw one 6... I do understand the average should be one time per six throws though.

banning iranian and syrian media stations, good call?
western nations are banning iranian and syrian media, do you guys think it will help prevent unfiltered propaganda from brainwashing our youth? particularly unapproved war images from our covert and fingers crossed soon to be more overt operations.

Which Winnie the Pooh Character are you most like?
I'm firmly of the belief that they have most personalities covered pretty well. I, for example, am firmly a Rabbit. What about YOU!?? Don't mix and match, and don't pick that little dicknob Christopher Robin unless you are a man and enjoy penises that don't belong to you.

I am amazed more people don't understand that Italy/France dynamic. Generally, when the one elects to attack the other, they are leaving themselves open to their neighbors in the areas they should be concerned with (I.e. France getting pummeled by England or Germany, and Italy getting knocked out by Austria or turkey).

Can't the same be said for any other two adjacent countries on the board?

@CF .. I'm interested in hearing your side. Why were you so unafraid of England? It was clear that he was working to double you up. Were you afraid to go against him?

@y2k .. were you trying to shoot for a solo when you attacked me?

@Nigee .. well played in Turkey. Some circumstance but you blocked a number of good moves on my end with good moves of your own.

So after I took Spain, my play definitely got a little messy. When England took mid Atlantic and France made it impossible for me to take it, I decided to fight England's "ally" Germany by making my play on Munich. I did that by fucking around and sending Austria there, then taking it back. That was the play that somewhat doomed Germany to succumbing to England very easily, and I recognize that in retrospect. Turning on Austria was my last ditch effort to just try to tell Germany "I'm sorry, try to save yourself." I could have stayed allied with Austria, keep him holed up in Munich, and that may have stopped the solo. C'est la vie. I have no regrets on my initial move against France.

Fair enough... you probably could have put yourself into solo position if you had kept going west.

I wanted to, and if I had put more pressure on England I may have been more of a threat to at least stopping his gains in France. Germany was throwing me off over there before I was booted out by England, hence my play on Munich.

I can honestly say I misordered. Meant to bounce in Moscow and was already to commited to the south to try and stop him. Though some of it was a fair amount of not hereness. I had a wisdom tooth pulled as well as the one next to it. So really I should of ask for a pause but felt a little bitchy about it. Ah well. I play for the fun and if I win that's awesome. If not I don't take ti so hard.

@Mapu The point I was trying to make is that France has two immediate concerns (I.e. Germany and England), and doesn't need to go picking fights in the med immediately. Italy is IMHO even more dependent on finishing off their potential rival in the east, turkey. It isn't exactly the same in every other instance.

Congrats to LittleSoldierBoy, I won't be passing him and it sounds like Nigee confirmed the same.
The original plan I had for this game was to be part of a CPA with Italy and Austria pulling a Lepanto while I worked with France on a Sea Lion offensive. However Russia was uncooperative the first phase, saying that he did want to open strongly in the north. Without Russia blocking in the north, France and I aborted the SL in favor of a WT, this alliance successfully kept Russia from any builds the first year, essentially dooming the Czar from the start. In the south, Austria and Italy failed to put together a Lepanto, which, along with the tight border control France kept in Burgundy, was bad news for the CPA. Once Russia was defeated, I had to make a choice between the two triples, ultimately choosing the stronger WT and began attacking my could-have-been ally, Austria.

First communication with Turkey came late in the game, in an attempt to get him to help finish off Austria instead of trying to prevent his fall. This ultimately secured Turkey a place with the WT in the draw. I had actually hoped for another solo bid with the attack into Burgundy at the end, but misordering the capture of Venice, England's less than enthusiastic response to joining me against France, and the general atmosphere of all 3 other players being content with a 4-way draw swayed me to forgo the plans and take it too.

Sorry about the delay there guys, was out doing things all day. Game 2 is yet another 3 way draw. Clearly I have plenty of room for improvement, especially in the end game, I won't deny that, but I stand by the choices I made.

1) LittleSoldierBoy 54 D - **** FOX WITH THE DRAGON TATTOO CHAMP ****
2) NigeeBaby 43 D
3) y2kjbk 34 D
4) LakersFan 22 D
5) [tie] bo_sox48 & CelticFox 8 D
7) Jon65 1 D

He started off as 25/1 outsider but LittleSoldierBoy has plucked himself from obscurity to become The Fox & Dragon Champion with a commanding 54 D, strangely enough soloing as England in one game but being defeated as England in another. The only person to solo and shows his skills across the 3 classic map variants, public press, full press and gunboat.
A worthy champion and the longest price tourney winner we've had.
NigeeBaby gets 43 D and his best ever finish in 2nd place (hooray). The man of letters and number came in as one of the favourites and started strongly but faded into 3rd Place with 34 D as the Tourney reached the business end. LakersFan ended a respectable 4th with 22 D.
Team Bo are having a crisis meeting to discuss what happened, the sponsors want some questions answered before they plough in more millions into the Diplo career of this young prodigy. Bo_Sox & CelticFox tie up joint 5th spot with 8 D each.
Jon65 held up the table with a single point, hopefully lessons were learned that will stand him in good stead for future challenges.
Thank you everyone, I particularly enjoyed the English sledging of Austria in that final PP game, I don 't think LSB minded too much as he came out as Tourney Champ.
Well done everyone ..... any thoughts/reflections please tag on below

That's nice .... if there were real justice in this world he would get the opportunity to tell a judge in a court of law how sorry he was, I wonder how sorry he was before he was 'outed' as a paedophile.

World Diplo IX - not year 1
What year is the World Diplomacy IX set Definitely not year 2000, by then America was united. No countries have ever existed in Antarctica, and the last empire to rule Germany, Italy and France was Napoleon. Only India can claim some legitimacy on that map.
