This is a ridiculous mini-push on Maniac. He is doing a Maniackie thing, which is to stir the pot a little and see what bubbles up. And as someone joining the game more than 12 hours in and seeing that we have little to go on, it's pretty clear that the pot needs to be stirred.

Wjessop, you present two possible options for Maniac's post: (1) he thought he could get away with it, and (2) he genuinely believed it. (2) is inconceivable, so you were directing us to think (1). You excluded the idea of a reaction test, which is just about the only thing Maniac has ever done at this stage of a game.

So, @wjessop, explain Scum Maniac's motivation for altering Toemato's post, and explain how that is more plausible than a reaction test.

@Balki: I posed them as questions -- I was trying to think through why he might have been motivated to do that -- and I clearly said "it seems like a silly strategy because anyone checking would flag it straight away" so I didn't necessarily think Maniac was scum but I wanted some answers, thus my vote to put that pressure on him.

@toemato: Well, I think it's just a running joke here. It's easy to get stuck in to certain ways when you play the same game. But, that's a question you'll have to ask Flum, really.
