Might not. Getting tobacco products shipped into or out of the states is challenging unless it is for resale and then you have the taxes that go with importation and exportation along with documentation of country of origin. Canada wants to get their VAT on the product as does the US.

You'd have to pay duty. Still, it's often cheaper to buy from the states even if you pay for duty on it. Liquour is taxed very heavily.

Honestly, whether it was drinking in public or in a private household I find it stupid to announce it to the world that you are getting drunk. That is just my opinion. A whole bottle of wine to yourself is quite a bit and yes, I think that is too much. And no matter what the drinking laws are regarding private households, I find it dumb and irresponsible to get drunk like that.

As for alcohol content, I know for sure that wine should be about 12.5% alcohol, and beer (at least in my area), is about 6%.

I had to break and see what maple wrote. Ironic all this was because he called me a savages and American's pussies in general over Cuban cigars. In other words, it was his insults surrounding overpriced shit cigars. Current Cunans cost way more than they are worth and the DR has many better cigars coming out of it than Cuba produces. The only Cuban with smoking is a Cohiba and it isn't worth the cost in Canada or on the internationally owned cruise lines in international waters (where you can legally buy and smoke them).

Depends if you like mild or full bodied. DR cigars are mild.

If the bottle was 750ml and 8,5% alcohol, that's 63,75ml. Unless I'm very mistaken, that's about 50g. In the explanation of the formula, one Standard Drink is defined as a drink with 10 grams of alcohol. So that's 5 Standard Drinks for the whine only, right? Don't know the details of the beer, but I'd guess that gives a total of around 6 Standard Drinks, which also seems to make more sense...

The general rule of thumb is a bottle of beer = a glass of wine = a mixed drink or a shot of hard liquor. But this is just a general rule of thumb as beer can be all over the map in alcoholic content as can wine and liquor.

First of all, don't worry, I don't have regrets and I had fun. If I would get to do everything on that party again I probably would've done some things different although I don't have a clue what (because I don't care), but I think I'd end up drinking pretty much the same. Maybe one glass less, but really, I don't regret the one glass extra. I think I had a bit much, not (way) too much.
I still think gathering information is harmless and potentially good, especially when it's fairly/relatively relevant to my life.

More importantly though, watch out mate, you might lose a cheap labour force with that attitude! :-)
