Sniff In the Bathroom Stall...
...and other forms of "alert". Yeah, so I entered the john and heard the inevitable "sniff" from the far (and favored) stall - the, "I'm in here...stay away" sniff to a fellow shitter.

Two questions: What is your preferred form of "alert" to fellow man, and what is your preferred stall?

How to Deal With Heartbreak...
So yeah, it's been a while, and I'm probably looking a lot like Conservative Man with this post, but I just went through an awful breakup and I need some help. I've never really had a father figure and I know this is pathetic, but this is the only place I've found good advice that I haven't had to figure out on my own...

You know what's hilarious is when I first made my account (Back in 2010) I was going through a similar situation, King. I found that playing enough diplomacy games at one time (Especially the live games) kept my mind from wandering to places it didn't need to wander off to.

I was with a bitch for 5 years and some change. We were engaged and all, then her dad died and she just up and didn't want a relationship anymore. A month later she's sucking some other guy's dick on the regular. I give to you these resources that helped me through this extremely depressing period of time...

If this is genuine, I'd say focus on the future. Think. What do you want? Sure, you love diplomacy, but wouldn't it be great if this game and another awesome game fucked and gave birth to a super-game? Not going to happen, so if you want your super-game, maybe you should make it yourself.

I could go on, but just think of some new project, something besides school and diplomacy to fill every second of boredom.

That, and/or don't forget that doing nothing doesn't have to equal boredom. Meditate. Just sit in the garden and look up to the sky or something. Don't think. Thinking sucks right now. You need a reboot. This hopefully gets you determined about a new project as mentioned above.

Never mind whether it's true or not. It isn't. But whenever I hear stories like this I remember the first girl who REALLY broke my heart. Today I look back and laugh. What was I thinking? I know who she is today, and what she's doing, and it ain't pretty. For most guys, she did you a quiet favor.

In KA's case, though, she was the best you were ever going to find, and it's only going to get worse from here on out. Best to anhero today.

For any of you kiddies who think you have found your perfect female specimen at 18....here are a few suggestions:
1. Look at her mom. Is she fat and dumpy? Because that's a preview of the daughter in whom you think you have found perfection.
2. Go on FaceBook and just start scrolling through old women's profiles. Try to find those with public profiles so you can go back and find their high school pictures. Yeah....yeah that's right...all those shapely high school chicks...they're mostly fat now.

You didn't find perfection in this psychotic 16 year old, you found a future just another <fill in the blank>. Find someone with interests you share. If you can't tell her about WebDiplomacy and keep the realtionship intact, then she clearly isn't your girl.

My wife, while not a WebDipper, is certainly a gamer, who ran the lands of Azeroth with me for many years until we grew bored of ganking people. A find rogue was she back in the day. As a bonus, Mrs. Krellin is one of the few that didn't let herself go to hell after the ring slipped on (key: Keep her active - we golf in season, and hit the gym on occassion in the winter...). But for the most part, that high school hottie is an incredibly fleeting thing...

If you've seen my facebook page, that is my wife at 50. You won't find many 50 year olds without plastic surgery that look that fine. While she doesn't share my love of online gaming, she tolerates it and I don't have to sneak off to get an STO/WebDip/WoW/D&D fix... And she does like board games (I'm teaching her Axis & Allies while we are at the cabin tomorrow thru Monday).

That depends on the player, how familiar she is with strategy games in general. Plus, she may just have an aversion to playing the nazis. My wife, I believe, would just have a natural aversion to "playing the bad guy" in a game.

Do not follow theodosius' advice. Also, you should be friends wth her but only once you feel no pain as a result of being left by her. Tell her that, and say you'll be in contact at that time. Then wait roughly six months.

Also do not slide down the well trod path of misogyny and start to hate "that bitch" and bemoan "the way women treat men."

That's bullshit. Everyone gets burned in romance at some point. learn to forgive and move on. Once moved on it is possible to at least be on good terms (I.e. Speaking terms not fast friends) with this girl.
Maniac (189 D(B))

Only one way to deal with heartbreak - time. Doesn't much matter what you do with that time, mope around, get angry, find some easy sex or throw yourself into diplomacy. After a while the pain will ease, later you'll realise you haven't thought about them for a day or two and much later as you're relaying the story to your children/grandchildren you won't even remember her name. Time is a wonderful healer. It also helps if, like me, you have a poor memory.

What I will say is always take the positives. I remember being heartbroken and riding off on my bike after a girl had finished with me and not caring if I was hit by a truck (I wasn't) but I remember thinking then I wouldn't forget how it felt, and whilst I can not summon up that pain, I remember the outline and I think that helped me later on to show empathy when my kids got hurt.

Hope that helps
Thucydides (864 D(B))
29 Jan 14 UTC
Yeah, I agree that it is an instructive experience. I don't think you forget how it feels, it just stops reaching down through time to hurt you today. But you'll always remember the hurt, and will feel gentler to others' feelings.

Basically, hurting a person's feelings may sound cheeky but it's real ass shit. Take it seriously. Watch Oldboy

I call bullshit on this "let's get over it and be friends" nonsense. Give me a fucking break - she's 16, he's a senior in high school. In 5 months, you'll never see that bitch again, and good riddence to her. Move on, go to college, and realize that the child you just left behind was just another immature silly girl who - as a result of her immaturity - was fucking with your emotions as she tried to figure out this whole "love' bullcrap (and, you are 16 and 18...it's not "love"....it's hormones.)

All you people taking this month-long high school romance as if it was something serious need to quit pumping this kid's head full of the nonsensical idea that this was something other than the complete bullcrap it was. Shit...it's not like they were married. It's not liek they were **anything**. they didn't even **really** know each other....how the fuck could they, because by all accounts, they **don't even know themselves**.

So for god's sake, quit making this nonsense out to be some great emotional burden and important event in his life and telling him he should feel all these deep hurtful terrible emotions, blah blah blah.

fuck the bitch.

And despite Thucy's ridiculous suggestion that men and women aren't any different from one another, I assure you they *completely* are. Men and women....boy and girls....completely different phyisically...one has a ding ding, one has a hole...and completely different *emotionally*...And to suggest that men and women treat each other exactly the same going in to or out of relationships is simply and indication that Thucy doesn't know jack shit about women.

i.e. word to the wise...and Thucy.....cute Libtard philosophy about women and men being equal is fine for discussions. when is comes to dealing with real human beings, this notion that men and women act exactly the same is just a damned good way to be confused and hurt by people you think you love. For the record, being DIFFERENT does NOT mean you are not equal. But lest you be a fool, don't kid yourself in to thinking equal means the same...

WOW 4 pages on a realtionship bust up
some of it compassionate
& some of it revealing the vicarous pleasure we find in the misfortune of others.

being equal & acting the same are differing things.

KA, m'lad, some women are beautiful and wondrous people,
others are shrews, termaginants, whores, bloated selfish bores etc
like us they are a varying mix of all the human virtues & failties.
The keeping of a woman, or women,
& the inevitable children you choose to sire with them
is an expensive ( emotionally & financially ) hobby for a man,
it's far cheaper to own an ocean going racing yacht.

A specific piece of advice on the "let's still be friends" caper
That's got too much pain in it for you so soon after the breakup
so be blunt with her on that, I suggest you tell her you :
1 would desire to always have fond thoughts of her despite the terrible injury she has done to you, that you would regret hating her for that injury & the pain you feel
2 that if she has ANY remaining tenderness toward you, SHE will allow you the time,
space & privacy to heal yourself & keep a respectful distance from you

Having communicated that to her, then do not seek her out, you should avoid her & her society.

That relationship,as lovers, is ended.

Value yourself, deal with the grief & mourning, & get on with your life.
There's tougher stuff ahead for you, and hopefully better times as well.
In life, loved ones come and go, they live and die.

There is often nothing better than finding a new lover to ease the loss of a former lover
with love always comes the risk of pain
it would be the blackest tragedy to never know love
think on this KA, loving someone for a lot lot longer, then losing them
I met a nice old Polish lady recently and although we only talked for 20 minutes or so,
I cannot describe the terrible lonliness she must now endure
she is in her nineties, and all alone after a long & ( mostly ) happy marriage
she met her husband in the turmoil of Europe in 1944/ 1945

Being a "complimentarian" is a euphemism coined by traditionalists along the lines of "separate but equal." What a risible ruse that is.

Thucy - you are such a retard. I never said don't treat them as equal, I said don't treat them the same as men, because men and women are different. You get so fucking wrapped up in your libtard agenda's you can never actually read what is said to you.

Men and women are **different**, asshole. Equal, but different. Buy a guy a six pack and a couple of tickets to a sporting event for V-Day and he'll probably be happy (most men...). Do the same for a woman and you won't get nearly the same result.

Thucy you go right ahead and treat all men and women *exactly* the same. My marriage is now in it's 20th year, and my parents have been married for 49, and my grandparents before them were never divorced...and in all this marriage bliss, I've never seen anyone treat each other "the same". Instead, in each case the spouse treats their partner as an individual with individual likes and dislikes. There doesn’t have to be some fucked up Libtard measurement of equality in the relationship when there is knowledge of one another, and respect. What the fuck does it even mean to “treat each other as equals” in your demented worldview? In fact, each person in the relationship is “superior” in certain facets, and the other is superior in other facets, and it is the balance of inequalities that makes things work….but that is probably far too nuanced for a blunt tool like you who, no doubt, can’t keep a relationship together for more than two months at a time…

Krellin, you stupid fuck.

Your attempt to insult me by feminizing me ("buy him a teddy and chocolates!") is just as revealing. There isn't anything insulting or humiliating about being feminine or a woman for that matter.

Of course every person is different from every other person. You should learn about a person and treat them accordingly. A very proud friend of mine hates to receive life advice. So I don't ever offer it and commiserate with her only, instead. Another friend is in constant need of guidance and appreciates the advice. Both are women.

When you go into a romantic relationship or any relationship with a person with a set of ideas about how this person fundamentally thinks or feels based on their gender, you are going to end up pigeon holing them and severely misunderstanding them as a person first, man or woman second.

It's true I can't exactly identify with my women fiends if they're complaining about being on their period. And they can't really identify with blue balls.

But this never should and never has stopped people who are inevitably always different from one another from *empathizing* with each other. What a novel thought. I suppose you refrain from empathy, krellin, because you would never deign to something coded so feminine.

Separate but equal is oppression. Complimentarianism is sexist. Do you also think women are best suited to "supporting" the men in their life? Fuck off with that shit
Octavious (2701 D)

It is certainly used by desperadoes in their single minded quest to get laid, but it is also, sadly, all too real , lol. But non-assholes just shut the fuck up about it and deal with the pain.
krellin (80 DX)

Thucy....ahhhhh ha ha ha! How would buying a teddy and chocolates be insulting and "feminizing" you --- because according to you men and women are *exactly* the same.

So, you stupid fucktard, you just proved my point -- you fully admit that men and women are different, that there is such a thing as "feminine" and "masculine"...which has been my point all along, you fucking moron.
mendax (321 D)

To quote Krellin "He wants to be treated like a lady..."

I'd say that was pretty feminizing.

Scientific basis for communism
I can't find any evidence of a scientific basis for communism. Is it the case that communism requires historical determinism to be true though? Communism only seems to consider "false consciousness", a view that history is static, "class consciousness", a view that history is dynamic and deterministic, but makes no room for history being dynamic and unpredictable.
