Consolation stab EOG

Kestas, oh great and mighty!

If you will strip Nigee's coin/badge from him (and him alone) I will contribute an amount equal to 150% of what he has contributed to the site.

Why do users display "Available Points" instead of "Total Points"?
For what the points mean or don't mean, seeing and ranking by total points is more informative that the current display of available points, no?

Why the mods are being selective?
Why they take actions against a player who breaks a rule and don't take actions against a player who breaks the same rule as the other one? What's the point of the rules then?

So you call him a liar, again?

"In the second situation the problem was explained and the player in question was contacted and stopped the potential rule abuse. "

Problem was solved. Maybe not to *your* satisfaction, but the mods aren't dictators out to enforce their will. They are here to make certain the games run fairly. If a warning for the first time sufficed, then they did their job perfectly.
@jmo have you followed Kestas's wishes regarding leniency when you have been dealing with my case?

@ SplitDiplomat:

"PLAYER A has been prosecuted because he broke a rule and PLAYER B hasn't been prosecuted having violated the same rule."

For the THIRD time of asking, which rule was broken?

I'm telling you both players now know not to use the pause feature the way they did. I'm not sure what else you want done? Should I go ban them?
Draugnar (0 DX)
25 Apr 13 UTC
You do know that leniency is based on circumstances like experience on the site and number of offenses right? New users and first time offenders get leniency. You are not new and I somehow doubt it's your first time to where you can claim ignorance. But now it comes out that your bitch is cause they smacked you around. Maybe they will silence and dock points to smack you around some more for being a little whiny pussy, bitch.

Ah, right. Pause ransom?
Jamiet99uk (808 D)
25 Apr 13 UTC
(By "pause ransom", I mean metagaming in the form of "I will only pause/unpause if you promise me this...." )
jmo1121109 (3812 D)

"@jmo have you followed Kestas's wishes regarding leniency when you have been dealing with my case?"

Yes, I docked you 10% of your points in your case. A rather mild point dock, when you appealed the case another admin with far more seniority then myself decided a more usual dock to a total of 30% was appropriate. Kestas then reviewed the case at your request and decided the action taken was appropriate.

@Jamiet, no, someone was voting pause to signal they wanted a smaller draw in a gunboat game.
Are you ejaculating now?
Draugnar (0 DX)

So Split did it despite being involved in the forum discussions about it and got punished. Another (presumably less experienced) player did it and leniency was shown but he will get the same treatment if he repeats. Once again, split is being a whiny little bitch.

Wow so is pressing "Cancel" or "Pause" now forbidden in gunboats? How can you infer the intent?!
Draugnar (0 DX)
25 Apr 13 UTC
Oh, and ironically, despite his original statement to the contrary of it not involving him, Split was bitching abou this own punishment. He should have let it go at 10% instead of being a whiny little bitch. :-)
AlexNesta (239 D)
25 Apr 13 UTC
If this was discussed already, I'm sorry - I must have missed it!
Draugnar (0 DX)
25 Apr 13 UTC
@Alex - it is a trick some gunboaters were using to indicate they wanted to reduce the draw and it was pretty well known I guess that the vote had that meaning. Use them for their intended purpose only and you should be good.
Draugnar (0 DX)
25 Apr 13 UTC
It was in the Gunboart Tourney thread.
No,Draugnar jmo docked me points long time ago before all this.Because during a gunboat game I've asked a player why he was delaying a turn.
jmo1121109 (3812 D)
25 Apr 13 UTC
@Draug, no, Split's case was not related to these others. I only mentioned it because he asked a direct question regarding it in the forum.

@AlexNesta, I asked the people in question why they were voting for a pause and they told me they were signaling a smaller draw. They then took the vote down and agreed not to do it again. You can obviously vote for a draw, cancel, or pause if you need/want them.

@Split, are you quite done now?
@jmo, no this is just a warm up,why? Am I close to a ban?

@Draug, I know all about it.

@jmo, I just can't imagine how this rule will ever be fairly enforced.

No, you just sound like a moron

"Are you ejaculating now?"

Really though...you have a decent reputation on this site, if I were you I'd ask myself if it's worth ruining over something the site owner decided was a correct decision.
No,it was decision based on how I was disgusted to you.

So, let's say it's S-1905, no one has been defeated, and the game is no where near settled. Would it be illegal to hit draw in an attempt to signal friendship with a neighbor?

I have voted to pause in gunboats as a signal to lessen the draw. That I was violating the rules never occurred to me.
@trip don't worry about it if jmo likes you.
Jamiet99uk (808 D)
25 Apr 13 UTC
Hold on, in what way is this a "rule"? Where is it stated that this is a rule? Is it in the help section, because I can't see it...
trip (696 D(B))
25 Apr 13 UTC
I wasn't maliciously breaking any rule (and 30% of my points is a laughable amount), so I don't really see why he'd bother even if he didn't.

I have been sort of following this thread, but I have had a hard time figuring out the specifics of the matter, beyond the "mods are being inconsistent" claims. I gather now the actual infringements in question are something to do with misuse of the pause/draw buttons. Somehow the pause button can be used to signal a request to the other players, "reduce the size of the pot". And this is illegal. Is that right?
Draugnar (0 DX)
25 Apr 13 UTC
Draw and cancel are game ending votes. Using them to signal something not intended to endbthe game at that moment is considered "outside the game communication" as it isn't obvious to non-regulars and is therefore illegal metagaming.

Leaving a game
How do you leave a game? Is there a way to end your participation immediately (so the other players know) or do you just stop playing and the other players just see that you "missed the last phase" and wonder if you're coming back?
