I agree with much of his agenda, but if he were serious about getting shit done, he wouldn't play brinksmanship with the House (for which I equally blame them, for the record) and keep creating these artificial deadline crises, which are what I believe are really holding the economy back. Who wants to expand their business when every two months you have to face some artificial "Fiscal Cliff" or "Debt Ceiling" or "Sequester". If any of them were serious, they'd start talking about these things in advance, not a week before the deadline.
Right now both parties are still more interested in scoring political points than solving problems. And sometimes the most presidential thing a president can do with the bully pulpit is do step down from it for a minute, sit down at the table like a human being, listen, and make a serious concession. Nothing fosters cooperation like humility.
