Most prefered 48; Relatively happy 36 and can't make 25.
Its gunboat, so people *should* finalize when they can - there's no reason not to. However, keeping the phase that short is very limiting.
I'm currently in a gunboat on Oli with 48hrs phases, but the first few raced through in less than 5. Just make sure people finalize, then the longer phase length servers merely as a fall back not as a tedious delay.

36h is good for me, but 48h is good too, as long as people agree to finalize if they can...
48h each turn for gunboats is just too much time.

I would prefer a 24 to 36 hour turn system. Some of us are starting to draw social security in the US, and we might not live to the end of this is the turns are too long.

36hr phases would make NMRs less likely, and allows individuals to manage the clock to avoid pausing. It also doens't make it excruciating if someone decides to be a poor sport and drag out turns. We're still filling up, so if people want to continue to post what their preference is, I'll take that into consideration and try to find the happy medium...which I think is going to be 36hr.

There are three people who don't currently have enough points; Onar, rodrigotjader and Arya8, who did mention that he's expecting points shortly.

I said before that I was thinking about a Monday start up, but thats prob going to be pushed back a day or two just to make sure everyone is on the same page. I def want games up and running before next weekend though, so what I can see happening as a worst case is creating the games Tues and giving players three days to join.

Well, depending how the draw goes some of the games might be able to start Monday and those requiring points wait.

Was thinking 5 pointers. This is more for pride than points, and keeping the buy in as low as possible makes it easy to afford for those of us with low point totals. Keeps the likelyhood of having to delay future rounds so players can get the needed points too.

A Hy Rollerz tourney would be awesome though...if I had the points :(

I would to get some experience but am afraid to get run over. Besides my first game I resigned. My internet turned off in the middle of that game and I got a CD. I dont have a GR rating cause I am new. But I know gunboat, because my friend has been playing on this site.

@ askninjasks: I like the outside-in set up because it puts the highest and lowest rated players in the same game (even though GR has little to no bearing on Gunboat ability), but I'm certain I screwed up seeds 13-16. It prob shouldn't be A,B,C,D. I'm fine with snaking order too though. Which set up is more balanced? I'm horrible at figuring stuff like that out.

When the Groups are set up, if one person from the three I'm not in could volunteer to create the games and distribute the ID and password, it would be greatly appreciated.

Right now we're looking at 5pt, 36hr games to be started Tues?, with three days sign up. Thoughts on any of that are welcome.

I'm adding 'most centers in one game' to the tie-breakers, after 'total centers'. I aslo have a question reguarding solos: Should the players who survive when another person solos get centers counted to their total?

Seeds 13-16 can't be accurately placed. The setup is balanced before seeds 13-16. We could switch 13-16 around however we want, but there'd still be an aberration from the pattern.
