Jesus fuck, I am in the worst goddam gunboat ever
Russia quits when they are the largest power on the board. Austria's a total moron who has completely ignored the growth of a huge Turkey in order to persist in attacking Italy, and England is getting gutted like a sea bass because he wants to attack France and Germany simultaneously, while they're attacking each other. Yecch, this game sucks.

Face to Face Help.
Is there a website that will allow me have one person (an admin) to input all the nations moves and let it play out? That way I don't have to buy a board game and we don't have to deal with peaces getting moved. Anyother way to use a computer to manage a face to face game?

Also I wont need to do anything. Civilization is more than capable of collapsing on its own.

unsustainability=inevitability of collapse
@ FS

"All communalism implies is that small groups of people sharing things is a nice way to life, and possibly preferable to many current systems. Not that an above authority should tell them to. Anarchists are generally very positive about communalism.... given that it isn't enforced at the tip of an AK or billy club. :)

Communalists and communists are not identical!"

Right. I'm not trying to imply that they're the same. But even with late-1960's-style microcommunalism, there has to be some element of control, not nessecarily from a higher power (ie government). For example, someone has to be setting the rules about the communalist society. If you don't have some standards, no one is going to be on the same page.

@ Sicarius --

You could have fooled me. I guess my theory about your past was wrong.

well if you view anarchism as a leftist movement I suppose it's natural to assume a bit of mobility there (to communism/socialism)

And it's natural to assume peoples backgrounds if you're the type of person to judge a person before making any attempt to actually get to know them or even find out anything about them. Typical of either teenagers or assholes.

TMW, the point is everyone sets the rules, as a group, voting together, etc. Or at least that's what I think Sic means.
Sicarius (673 D)

actually I meant that only some people would, that way the small minority who sets rules can control everyone else.
Oh wait no thats every other political theory
@ Sicarius -- Isn't true democracy a system where the majority sets the rules?

Sure, I don't know you personally, but I'm going to assume you're agreeable in real life (as most people with radical political views are). I wasn't trying to judge you; I was asking you if you were formerly a communist or a socialist, which wasn't exactly *wrong* of me to assume.

I think there's such a thing as conservative anarchism, in the form of extreme libertarianism. For example, there are people out there who think we should get rid of government all together and make it an armed free-for-all every-man-for-himself. And there's the other side, the left side, that thinks that we should level the playing field (ie, get rid of violence altogether and live in one massive worldwide commune by our own free will. I think that right-wing anarchism is more true, because it involves the complete lack of social rank or any ruling system. Just my gun versus your gun.

Gunboat Done Properly
I've tried three gunboat games today, all of which have been spoiled by no-shows and cds. Frankly, I find it ridiculous that 3 games be ruined this way. If anyone is interested in doing it properly, I will create a 50 point buy-in game scheduled to start in 30 minutes. If you join, show up.
