Can a mod unpause a game?
http://webdiplomacy.net/board.php?gameID=18739#gamePanel
TheHighLife, the only one not to have unpaused and the only one to vote cancel, appears to have moved and finished several games after the pause in question, yet refuses to unpause or even talk to us on the said game! Can a mod unpause this or get TheHighLife to do something?

The Presidents: From Best To Worst, First to Last... RANK!
-Top 4 as your "Mount Rushmore"
-Bottom 4 as your "Mount Runover"
-Rank ONLY on their time in office/personality (ie, generals don't get those as a bonus)
-Obama included, but he's one year in... should't yet be top OR bottom! ;)

Political Leanings
What is the average political persuasion on webDip?

I myself (as a Canadian) am a firm supporter of Conservative Party of Canada (Current PM Stephen Harper). My political philosophy as a whole I would say leans to the Libertarian/Conservative front. How about you guys?

politically Libertarian and socially Conservative

Obama is not out to wreck the economy just to impose socialism on us all (if he wrecked the economy, he would be voted out of office and the republicans would undo all his work), but he does seem to think that it is the government's job to take care of us in every way possible.

unpracticing Socialist, practically capitalists lower class (renting property, screwed by the system buying into things just to survive in it) supported by the social services (cause our country chooses not to let it's unemployed starve)

I'm no liberal, in fact I quite dislike them, but I'm already under the impression that their new leader will be much better.

Harper is morally repulsive. His party gets all its finances from big private companies, which can obviously donate a lot more than your average person. So what does he do when he sees this? He tries to cut all public support to the parties (his being the only one which doesn't rely on it) to have financial means 100 greater than the other 3 leading parties combined, making it for all practical ends a one-party system. When others protested this outrageous move, what did he do? He went to get that antiquity of a governor general to prorogue the government, essentially meaning that during a period where the government really ought to have been making good decisions to prepare Canada for the hard times to come, they were all on vacation and the issue was dismissed.

He also calls for elections every other year in a hope to get his majority to do all of his stupidity uncontested.

For climate change, he's letting all of the western provinces pollute as much as they want, since anyways, the eastern ones are reducing emissions, Canada can afford it! Hell, when Québec and Ontario announced ambitious environment initiatives, his minister CRITICIZED them for it!

The only thing Harper does is tax cuts, and most of them are only for the rich. While at the beginning I tolerated him because I appreciated that he actually fulfilled his promises (unlike the liberals), everything his party stands for is repulsive.

"Canada is sort of like a case of latent arthritis. We really don't think about it, unless it acts up." -Pat Buchanan

It's true. Probably the best part about this site is learning that Canadians care about things other than hockey and holding on to Quebec.

I'm a libertarian conservative, very much a mule of the two ideologies. I'm pretty uncompromisingly conservative fiscally, but this includes imagining military cuts and realizing that there is some legitimate uses for government intervention so I suppose neither really want me. Socially I sometimes feel like I was born 100 years to late in relation to everything but race, but I have no problem with what other people do in their own lives and would oppose almost any government intrusion in anybody's private life. I say go ahead and live your life as you want to, just don't expect me to like it and don't rub my face in it.

Basically if Ron Paul and Barry Goldwater had a baby and it grew up Catholic that would almost be me.

Social Libertarian (stay out of my business), Fiscally Conservative Isolationist (raise taxes, cut spending - especially military), Anti-corporatist (small businesses help america, large corporations ruin it, ease regulations on small businesses and farms, increase regulations on large corporations and farms - allow capitalism to actually work.)

Corporations destroy Capitalism and Democracy by choking competition and buying votes.
