Now I feel bad as Captain of the Midwest Monsters. I have not given a pep talk or anything, so here goes guys. I hereby guarantee victory if we all win our respective games. If everyone can manage to get to 18 SCs in their matches, then nothing can stop us. You can do it, especially if we can get the other 6 players in our respective games to simply look the other way. So, good luck men (at least I think we're all guys) and go get 'em.

re Ghost: I know that, but its like WTA with draws, but PPSC is a much much easier approximation (PPSC without draws). I would also postulate that actually thats the accurate representation anyway: the more games the more the average score would creap towards that of a PPSC where each player scored points as split by me/total GR.

The scoring system gives far more to the winner than the survivors.

420 for a win
plus the sc count giving a total of
600 for a win

The closests survivor lets say 12 sc's
only 120

I know that Denis. However, I was trying to think of a way to approximate an average game. For that I deemed PPSC more accurate.

It's a combination so you can't approximate it to anything else.
Also I treid putting more emphesis on winning (420 for win) or drawing ( max 210) a game so it's worth more points than what you get for SC count ( max 180)

Honest hell. Will still be interesting - if we see the same person top in each then I think it'd be pretty clear

well it's like betting in sports or so. Anything is possible. Yet that gives you a clue to examine games. For instance if by any chance I manage to win against MadMarx, TheGhostMaker and Centurian, I will brag about it till January 2011.

I intend to go into each game with the assumption that every single player in my game is, at the very least, my equal or better at the game. I think we can all agree that the stats, even Ghost rating, aren't as telling as they can be. I expect we'll see some alarming upsets.

To be honest my only worry is making sure I do my best in my two games - after all theres nothing more I can do.
"even ghost rating" - as its creator will (probably) admit, GR definitely has its flaws, such as that it assumes each game is played to the same rules and people won't gang up on the best player.

But ganging up on the "best" player will be tough with all anon play.
