Anonomous games
I am too paranoid to have multi's or meta's in a game that I am joining that already has 3-4 newly joined players. If I make the game it's fine but they never fill lol. Tell me my level of paranoia lol this game is worse than how THC is portrayed.

Early phase change?
Did the system change to where if everyone finalizes, the next phase is automatically started? Even just yesterday I thought that even if all 7 players finalized, we still had to wait out the last few minutes (in a 5 minute/phase Live game).

Today on the Help->FAQs the topic about faster phases was removed and I saw something in there about how it would automatically end the phase early if everyone's finalized.

Strange Bug...
A few minutes ago I logged in and checked my in-game messages. I had three messages, clicked on the games, and read them all. Then I left and came back a few minutes and the envelope was there for the games again. I checked them, and it hadn't recorded that I had read the messages I read.

Maybe this is just a one time glitch, and if it is, I'm sorry.

Pop vs. Soda vs coke
Which is it? Its official term is soda but 60% of Americans call it pop (including myself). Southerners call it coke and People on the coast call it soda. So, which is it?

I grew up in the North of England (Yorkshire) where
soda = soda water (or rarely cream soda - yeuch)
pop = generic term for carbonated soft drink
coke = any cola (although the person serving would explain it was Pepsi or whatever if they didn't sell Coke, I think that's the law now too!!)
lemonade = Sprite or 7up and very rarely means real lemonade (lemons, sugar and water - much nicer).
dandelion and burdock = mmmmmm

Oh, and to the US posters, here in the UK our colas and other soft drinks are generally made with cane sugar. So they taste much better than the corn syrup versions you might be used to :)

For those of a sugar-free orientation. Several years back (circa Christmas 2005 and January 2006), I spent the better part of those two months in Germany and grew to love Coke Light. I came back to discover that Coke Zero was basically the same thing as Coke Light: real original-flavored coke without sugar. Diet Coke was introduced at the same time as New Coke and based around it's flavor.

So, if you always liked the classic Coke flavor, but need sugar free for whatever reason, switch to Coke Zero in the US or get Coke Light in the rest of the world.

Of course, I understand Coke Zero is in Europe now too...

Nice thread hijack. Please keep the discussion of that to the OTHER thread (which is about Coke Zero's Facial Profiling Social Experiment).

Draugnar, my wife has diabetes too but she also can't have nuetra-sweet without getting bad headaches. So she usually drinks Zevia which is a brand of soft drinks that uses stevia for the sweetener. Just mentioning it in case you would be interested.

Stuff White people like because black people like it?
Xapi (194 D)
13 Oct 09 UTC
Sorry, forgot the page turning thing.

Anyway, in case you're interested, in Argentina we use the word "gaseosa", wich would be translated as "with gas".

We use Coca for the cola-flavoured drinks.

Interestingly (or maybe not so much) "Cola" means "tail" in Argentinian spanish, and "Coca" is the plant cocaine comes from, so "Coca-cola" can lead to many misinterpretations.

The word "Coke" reached this shores once, in the 90's, but it left to never return.
Troodonte (3379 D)

Portugal:
Gasosa - is still used by some, but very old fashioned
Cola - generic term for Coca-cola, Pepsi, Spur-cola, etc, but everytime you ask and they don't have coca-cola they say that they only have pepsi... Cola also means glue in portuguese.
Coca is just cocaine.
Refrigerante - this would be the generic word for soft drinks, soda's...
denis (864 D)
13 Oct 09 UTC
So in portugese Coca-Cola can be interperated as "will get you addicted(glued) to cocaine"?

I drink Pepsi. Dr. Pepper if they serve Coke products. I do not use generic words, because if I do, I get gross things, like Coca-Cola. Ugh. I say Pepsi, and I complain if it's wrong. I demand few perfect things in my life, but the right drink is one of them.

California:
soda = fizzy drinky stuff
coke = coca cola branded fizzy drinky stuff
pop = something funny to chuckle at when people with funny accents say it
dr pepper = clearly superior choice of soft drink (ok, ok... that may not be an accurate representation for the whole state)

Also, coke from other countries, the cane sugar stuff, is tasty. And on my last trip to NYC I discovered Boylan sodas, which are wonderful and put Jone's soda to shame in my book. Try the black cherry (drool)
Draugnar (0 DX)
16 Oct 09 UTC
@maxx233 - surely you meant Fresca as the clearly superior choice, at least amongst the major bottlers.

The superior choice amongst ALL bottlers is Canfield Diet Chocolate Fudge followed closely by faygo Diet Chocolate Creme Pie. Chocolate Sode! Mmmmmmmmmmm!!!!!!!!!!!!

"They can suck it"
In the press conference after Argentina's win over Uruguay, wich led to direct qualyfication to the 2010 World Cup, Argentina's coach, Diego Maradona, dedicated the victory to the players, his family, and the Argentinian people.

To his detractors, the message was clear: "They can suck it"
