Poetry opportunities..?
There used to be great organizations that worked through my school for poetry in youth, but now that I actually have an appreciation for poetry it seems like there aren't as many opportunities to perform or compete with poems.
Is anyone aware of prominent high school poetry organizations?

Is this game getting less popular?
I remember using this site years ago and I felt I could always find games to join, or if I made a game it would fill up in a couple of days at most.

Is there another site that people are using to play? It still seems like this one is the best at least from my quick google.

Must See Movie Reccomendations
So I like movies a lot and one of my goals in life is to watch every movie that is worth watching. I've seen most of AFIs top 100 and I have a to-watch list that is 168 films and counting. As such, I was curious if anyone here has some must-see movies that I may not know about.

Ending the Iraq war didnt create Isis

Starting the IRAQ war created the conditions for ISIS to form in the first place. How long were we gonna stay there dude? 700 years?

Yeah President O created a vacuum in Iraq when he gave everyone (including our enemies) an artificial deadline. They just had to wait him out which they did and then they came out of the woodwork and created the Caliphate. Sorry Brain, but your hero created ISIS and Hillary is the Mother of ISIS to quote Donald Trump (who was 100% right).

There are Republicans who still think Obama was President during the housing collapse, the recession, the inept response to Hurricane Katrina, and the bailouts.

No wonder people think Obama was a terrible President

ND, there never shouldve been troops in Iraq. That war shouldnt ever have existed. Its a pathetic disgrace that Hillary Clinton voted to send troops there. Her worst decision she ever made as a politician. The decision to leave Iraq had to happen. Of course it didnt work out. But ISIS wouldnt exist if we had simply just conducted an investigation to see if Saddam had WMDs. Its pretty simple.
ND (879 D)

Yes. Considering 78% of Registered Mississippi voters listed Obamas inability to respond to Katrina properly as a justification for not trusting him, id say the Republican party is doing a great job at educating its voting base.

ND, you're wrong on this one. Bush's administration takes primary responsibility for Iraq being the mess it is. I don't know why you don't admit this when there's still other countries Obama can take credit for.
TrPrado (461 D)
29 Nov 17 UTC
I mean no you’re objectively wrong. You can look back at the treaty that set the date and see it’s a big ol Bush treaty. It’s not his fault either those because he literally had no other choice but to make that promise.

You are referring to me as a Progressive a term youve defined as a person who supports Eugenics and Segregation. A term you apply to people from 105 years ago who are all dead. You think the democratic party still endorses slavery - a concept only deep southern conservatives support. You think the Democrats are sickos who perform genital mutilations and creepy science experiments on minorities like they did over a hundred years ago.

And yet you also wanna claim you understand history and claim yer not as batshit-out of fucking touch with society as democrats.

Well to that I say, at least we didnt start two wars at once in places you can NEVER leave or risk causing regional, permanent destabilization.

"ND, you're wrong on this one. Bush's administration takes primary responsibility for Iraq being the mess it is. I don't know why you don't admit this when there's still other countries Obama can take credit for."

Iraq being a mess lies with Bush, certainly, but ND is right about the rise of ISIS under Obama. That specific phenomenon is the direct result of the way Obama handled the US's withdrawal from Iraq.

ND, Iraq had precisely zero to with 9/11 and there was OVERWHELMING evidence to the contrary. Bush lied out of his ass six ways for sunday to concoct a pretext to invade. IN fact, he was 100% clear that it was Bin Laden and he was told by the Clinton administration wWHEN HE TOOK OFFICE Bin Laden would attack, and his own intelligence briefing said Al Qaeda was going to be using airplanes to attack. No one with two neurons to rub together was searching for answers, because we all knew exactly who the threat was and who attacked.

Those LIES about Iraq weren't corroborated anywhere outside of the lying propaganda machine of Fox News. In the world of sane people, it was clearly a fabrication and every intelligence service knew it. They also knew there were no weapons. The UN knew it, Bush knew it.

But he needed a bump in his poll numbers before the 2004 election, so he concocted a war and it worked. That was the only reason for invading Iraq. Frankly, the Vietnam was war shorter, less expensive and caused less damage globally, BB.

He is a war criminal, 100% And that's without the torture. It's a dire comment on America that he's walking around free.

The last thing we need is to piss money down the rat hole of the military. We need to fire half the military, mothball everything and spend the money on real needs.

Forget modernizing the military. Modernize our schools, our health care system, our infrastructure and our energy grid.

@BB, I never said anything about existential threat. At least not to the US. IN bosnia, there was a genocide, for which Ratko Mladic was just convicted and will die in prison. Same with Kosovo. In Somalia there was a warlord generated famine. All three were entirely justified. Clinton said his biggest regret was not intervening in the genocide in Rwanda, which was also right.
Ogion (3882 D)

No, you're not a revisionist historian, ND. Your a fucking ignorant liar.

IN fact the Status of Forces Agreement was negotiated by Bush, not Obama.
Ogion (3882 D)
29 Nov 17 UTC
@BB, we DID conduct an investigation to see if there were WMD in Iraq, a very extensive one and it concluded definitively there were none. Bush invaded anyway.

Do the freaking math.

But Americans are a bunch of brainwashed morons who are mostly completely illiterate as a result of the crappy "education" system. Are you really surprised that in broad stretches of the country people are horrendously misinformed? They can't even read in most places.
TrPrado (461 D)
29 Nov 17 UTC
Jesus fucking Christ Ogion is just as bad about saying completely incorrect info about the Iraq War as ND right now.
TrPrado (461 D)
29 Nov 17 UTC
The investigation was ongoing. There was legit info that suggested Saddam had not been disarming at the pace the UN wanted, which was confirmed by the CIA years later.
TrPrado (461 D)
29 Nov 17 UTC
Bush’s fuck up wasn’t lying that there were WMD’s, it was not even attempting to be diplomatic about disarmament.

You might be right. I don't really know which president is more responsible for Isis. It was probably a bit of a tag team effort.

Do you understand why America has a MASSIVE deficit?

Do you realize how much larger that would be if we had stayed as long as Mccain wanted too?

Isis is a terrible evil, but at what point was our presence ever going to keep a sustained stable Iraq? 10 years? 50 years?

What conditions could have EVER prevented ISIS and also ended our need to spend trillions per year there?

And look at Afghanistan. This is getting ridiculous. Bin laden is dead. Were fighting farm boys with ak-47s at this point. Pull your head out of your ass
Ogion (3882 D)
29 Nov 17 UTC
Al Baghdadi and Al Zaqawi were active under several different names as early as 1999 and declared an Islamic state in Iraq in 1999. The collapse of Syria is what really helped ISIS claim territory for which Obama could only be indirectly accountable for. Certainly without the chaos in western Iraq from 2003 on ISIS would have already been established as a fighting force to take advantage of the Syrian civil war.

If you want to blame with withdrawal of US forces, that happened because Bush negotiated their withdrawal.

Seriously? No, Bush's fuck up was totally lying about WMDs. That is why the United Nations and NATO stayed the fuck out of Iraq which has cost the United States TRILLIONS of dollars.

Even Trump said Bush lied.

Why no love for Sum of Squares scoring?
Personally, I'm not a big fan of Draw Size scoring, because it rewards the power that hung on with one dot the same as the 17 SC power that was a hair away from the solo.

What I've noticed is that almost every new game is Draw Size Scoring. Is that just because it's the default option or are players here just not fond of it.

Republicans do a better job of promoting younger members, in part because they limit, to six years, the length of time a member can be chairman or chairwoman of a committee. Democrats do not impose term limits on committee leaders or so-called ranking members, the top slot for lawmakers who are in the minority.
