Can anyone find a problem with this plan
Hawaii's state senate is proposing a bill that would allow medicaid to cover the cost of housing and allegedly save the state millions of dollars annually.

Can anyone find a problem with the plan?

For Libs only - cool article
http://www.charlotteobserver.com/news/politics-government/article136940273.html

This is the story from Rachel Maddow a few days ago, talking about the Russian jet parked next to Trump's jet in Charlotte just before the election. The Russian is a billionaire, part owner of Bank of Cyprus. Of course, you recall that Wilbur Ross is an investor in the Bank of Cyprus. Maybe it's just a coincidence. Maybe it's MURDERRRRRRRR!

Reliability Rating Determination
How is RR determined? As I figure it by NMR/Moves it should be 99. if by CD/Finished it should be 97. Either way it should be above 95. Even the average of the two would be 98. CD: 5. NMR / received: 46/4783
RR: 95% breakdown. Total (finished): 202

Why does life have value in your opinions?
Sorry if this is a weird question but I'm interested in hearing other's perspectives. Is it determined by their potential for happiness, intelligence, and/ or other talents? Does the value of someone's life fluctuate as they get older/ gain experience/ relationships, and/ or based on their actions? Are human lives worth more than other animals and if so why? Does a life inherently have value? Discuss.

Why do veterans get a "public option" for services at the VA?
With all the hospitals to choose from, isn't it wasteful to prop up the VA which is so fraught with problems? Conservatives, you hated the public option when the ACA was being legislated. Why is it ok for veterans? Is it just welfare for conservatives?

"and then call me names as a response"

Where? All I did was say that your claims were unwarranted. Here's a name for you now, though: don't be such a snowflake.

If Prop 8 was never the law of the land, explain why no same-sex marriages happened in California between November 2008 and June 2013, when the 9th Circuit dissolved their stay on the judicial ruling against Prop 8.

If Prop 8 proponents could have dragged up literally anyone who experienced tangible harm from Prop 8 being overturned, they would have had standing with or without state officials. The fact that they were unable to do so speaks more to the ridiculousness of Prop 8 than to the character of state officials.

"so what about 'sanctuary cities'? are they not violating federal jurisdiction over immigration?"

No, they're simply not taking action on behalf of federal agents. Prop 187 actively violated federal jurisdiction.
Ogion (3882 D)
02 Mar 17 UTC
To be fair, standing arguments seem to invariably cut against people trying to assert a public interest. In the eyes of Scalia, anything is legal as long as you hurt enough people diffusely enough. It's a very problematic set of doctrines.
Lethologica (203 D)
02 Mar 17 UTC
That's as may be. There's a tension between standing and the initiative process. But Prop 8 got a day in district court and then a day in appeals court, where it was struck down on the merits both times. Then SCOTUS refused to hear the case on standing...at the exact same time as it was ruling on US v. Windsor, where it struck down the same definition of marriage at the federal level on the merits. If Brad thinks state officials did a disservice to the state by not defending an unconstitutional statute strenuously enough, he's fooling himself.
Ogion (3882 D)
02 Mar 17 UTC
Yes, he is. The fact is also that needs mention is that Prop 8 failed to clear a rational basis standard, which is an extremely low bar. If you law can't pass that, without even addressing whether LGBT people deserve any kind of protection under the Equal Protection clause, your proposition is in a boatload of trouble. Judge Walker built a solid record at trial and gave a bullet proof judgment. Frankly, defending it was a waste of time.
(In full disclosure, I wrote an amicus brief to the Ninth Circuit on that case, albeit on issues that were not those that ultimately determined that particular case)

8. J.D. Gordon
9. Jared Kushner

Apparently they both met this guy, the Russian "Ambassador":

And Donald Trump Jr was apparently paid $50,000 by a Russian linked group in France. Seems a little tenuous that one though
Ogion (3882 D)
03 Mar 17 UTC
Oh, but it gets better.

Apparently, the watering down of the Ukraine language in the GOP platform at the GOP convention WAS done at Trump's behest, which Trump lied about. And it was done at a meeting presided over by Jeff Sessions at the same convention at which Sessions met with the Russian ambassador. A week later, Wikileaks leaks its hack of the Clinton campaign and the DNC.

Oh, but there's not an coordination or quid pro quo here. Riiiight.

impeach the bastards already.

Of course i find myself agreeing with fiedler on this. Ok maybe not the last part on Obama Scandals (he left power, and isn't a threat to anyone, so not worth the political cost of going after.. ) but impeachment will not be soon coming.

Trump may get rid of a few more people, those who prove 'disloyal', who are stabbed in the back by other appointees, who fail to win the game that seems to be going on inside the administration.
orathaic (1009 D(B))

@fiedler, why? Maybe Ogion inherited his wealth and spends his time spreading the ideas he likes.

If you believe in inheritance (and not that the state shoyld confiscate the property/wealth of people when they die) then i can't see why you would have an objection.

@ fiedler typically WHITE MALE thing

apparently you didn't see my other post:

@ Ogion
sanctions and military strikes might be the only remaining rational answer
Ogion proposes treason.

I blame our terrible education system after four decades of Republican gutting

California has had virtual democrat control of the legislature since the 1950's
so who is to blame here? Oh i know, unfettered undocumented immigration since the 1970's of people with no english skills (often no spanish either) in non-english speaking homes. who's parents take out the girls by high school and who's attitude towards education is to knock down any achievers. I lived that discrimination myself as did my father.

Ogion speaks from a position of WHITE PRIVILEGE whereas myself and my father have faced discrimination of Spanish speakers. my father refused to have me learn Spanish growing up so i would have a better chance in a white world where i could 'pass'.

Ogion's only solution is to either blame someone else or throw money at the system while he preaches 'tolerance' as he enables the breakdown of traditional moral values.

Much as I don't like him, Trump isn't getting impeached. All the "treason" is Logan Act stuff that has never been pushed, and has serious 1st Amendment problems if it ever is pushed. Maybe Trump will do something impeachable at some point, but I haven't seen it yet. He's done despicable stuff, IMHO, but not impeachable. Just as I'm sure many conservatives wanted to impeach Obama for things he did that they detested, but there were no impeachable acts.
Ogion (3882 D)

Emoluments clause. He switches his position on the VERY important one China policy and then a few days later he just happens to win a very rare trademark decision in his favor from a Chinese court. He gets elected and seemingly gets a $19.1 billion stake in Rosneft at a sweetheart price. Not to mention the shenangans in Argentina and Turkey.

Unless the Republicans hold the house in 2018, there will be serious investigations, and maybe impeachement. No conviction though.

As for Priutt and Sessions, I'm not so sure. Lying to Congress even pisses Republicans off.
