It *used* to actually be about equality and the proper recognition of treatment -- and by "equality" we didnt' mean "exactly the same, there is no gender" but "equality" as in "hey, sometimes I like steak, and sometimes I like lobster...and though different, they are both equally delicious and valuable to my dietary and pleasure needs".

Modern day "feminism" has long ago ceased to be about that. It's kind of sad and pathetic...and this is why if you survey women, you will find most are not self=identified as "feminists", even thought they are for "equal...yadda yadda yadda...".

I disagree with Krellin (quelle surprise) modern feminism has evolved, but it has also suffered from decades of negative press coverage and an agenda which is driven to supress it.

There is also a diversity of views within modern feminism, not everyone sings from the same hymn sheet. Including, but not limited to, a recognition of the bullshit that 'white wealthy feminism' was in the past - ie the preserve of wealthy white (read:privileged) women whose struggles were very different from a lot of other groups.

Modern feminism tries to recognise the intersection of different forms of oppression with an intersectional approach. Which is can recognise class, race, gender, education, disability, queerness among other issues which overlap and harm both women and men. Which affect differen people differently...

Wtf are you talking about? Feminism has received much more positive press coverage form the MSM than negative coverage. You have to dig that up from alternate media or Youtube videos of feminists exposing themselves.

The experiences I've had with feminism have not been good. Equality is good, I agree with that. But too many feminists I've seen just seem to be trying promote the superiority of women and women's rights.
