Daily Quest 1

A crew member from residential block A has complained men are drinking into late hours of the night. She says ever since entering Orbit these men are shouting, gambling and keeping other people awake.

Her name is Miriam. She is a mormon missionary and believes Alcohol is a sin. She requests the use of Drugs and Alcohol be banned on the ship. But most importantly she wants the noise disturbance to cease immediatley and either these people be told to keep it down or she will be leaving the ship upon arrival at Europa Colony.

##GM NOTE @Vash The majority of the passengers on board follow a variety of religions. Taking the Religion path would mean you either promote an existing faith or create a new faith. If you create a new religion youd literally create a new religion fully customizeable. You currently have little to no intel on any Alien races however you can assume some are very primitive and others may be quite advanced.
As for con men, All of the councillors were part of an elite squad of hackers and thieves known as the webdippers. You guys are the con men. ;)

Census - how many persons aboard the ship are religious? How many aboard the ship find drinking and/or gambling unpleasant?

Tell Miriam that the ship is currently on fire, and we will deal with her moral outrage when it is not.

##GM Note for a proposal to be official ot must be seconded. Then a majority vote will approve or deny any proposal.

We should establish a section of the ship to be set apart as a common room away from the sleeping quarters. This will serve as a place where the men can drink, gamble and generally be rowdy. I suggest somewhere in block C, but removed from the medbay.

Alcohol should NOT be consumed while on duty and is prohibited in the sleeping quarters and areas such as the bridge. Drug usage is prohibited.

It is possible that we should/could establish a noise curfew. Our mission requires people to have their wits about them... parties that extend late into the night won't be beneficial.

I like floodgates' proposal. A common room is in order, perhaps even a bar/grill of sorts, where at least the rowdiness can be contained (by airlocks, if need be).

I second the no-alcohol on duty proposal. Also the noise curfew. ##callGM what system of timekeeping is in use aboard this ship? Is there a standard for earth vessels?

@Jamiet: as an athiest, could you support religion as an "opiate of the masses," a vehicle by which we could achieve our win condition?

@krellin: the religion pathway means we have to convert 3 alien races to our cause. Do you think that will be more or less difficult than the goals for the commerce pathway?

FWIW, we should probably not tell too many people the ship is on fire unless there is immediate need to evacuate them, or they are likely to find out another way. The last thing we need is a panic aboard the ship.

Miriam: I have heard rumors you have agreed to try to solve the noise issue. Bless you in Christs name dear councilors. As a token of respect I will agree to be your ships Religious leader. I ask that if you take time to designate an area as a tavern, surely you would have time to create even a small Mormon Chapel.

(Miriam costs no money to add as one of your three specialists and will convert 25 civilians to her faith per phase. Keep in mind specialists are rare and hard to replace. You may encounter experts who wont work with religious people or worse rival religious specialists.)

Councillors It may be possible to use the replicators to create fire extinguishers and send in our 4 cyborgs to fix the cafeteria. &\\€&*€€£££¥*/# Cyborgs can withstand temps of up to 2300° C.

Evidence suggests we were sabotaged from within the ship itself. A data breach indicates someone hacked us during liftoff causing seceral cobduit overloads. We may have a hacker aboard.

Finding the cause of the fire and what was used to hack will help solve the mystery. The style of attack implies interference by either Playdippian rebels, Russians, or North Korea.

Religion (whether you believe in it or not) can be a very handy tool to inspire certain groups of people. I wouldn't be so quick to discount it.

I wish to discount it entirely, and as quickly as possible. If we can only have three specialists, I don't want one whose specialism is the book of Mormon.
