Takeovers are also GR-exempt, aren't they? As far as I can tell, the point of taking over a game is to do something good by not letting that game get totally fucked by a permanent CD, not to run the map.

Yeah I'd say an unmotivated player who plays poorly because of lack of incentive is still vastly superior to people not wanting to pay to join as a weak nation and thus leaving a country in CD for an extended period.

I think take overs are included in GR

If they still are, they shouldn't be. I'm not sure how to integrate that into the existing code, maybe someone else would know.

I do takeovers to help the quality of the game and to improve my rookie early mistakes to my own RR.

And its free. something fun about taking over a lost position and getting something positive out of it against all odds.

I abhor the idea of buying points.
WebDip is classless in that everyone has a constantly refillable source of currency, and thus continuous play.
The idea of giving people with money an advantage is wrong.
The idea of selectively granting points to trolls begging on the forum is silly.

Your begging degrades yourself and your (ab)use of the forum as your own stream of drivel blog is probably off-putting to new players.

You're a good player -- earning the points fairly through skill would surely be much nee rewarding than buying them or wearing the mods down to give in to your forum begs.

Yea but on vdip for example a site less used, you start out with more points than on here. Plus if were giving away unlimited points at or around 100 as soon as someone hits 0, why 100, why not 1000 why not 10,000. point is people who play should be playing forever. this is not a real economy and the points are not indicative of anything at all.

my request would actually help promote the live game club yoyo has started by offering members an opportunity to play against me in a 5 game series 100 point buy ins each. Im sorry you are offended I have spent my points. Many of you on here have “WON" these points off of me and now you are feigning anger about the issue. If anything you should be thanking me for playing so often and caring so little about the points because ultimately its boosting your own playing vs me!

With neither GR nor the "Game stats:" section of your profile taking into account CD takeovers, it makes me sad that CD takeovers no longer require any bet. There is now no way to measure your Diplomacy skill if you like to join games in progress.

And to quell any misconceptions before they start - currently both profile statistics and GR include games from takeovers.

JECE means that because results from takeovers are influenced by the performance of the person who left you the position, statistics that don't separate out takeover games technically aren't clean. Of course, that's a matter of degree.

I agree with him. I would really like to handle the way we report takeovers differently.

Reduced weighting, or results weighted by the position taken over, or separate stats, or something else?

Getting somethinf if you take over ANDplay till end would be cool, not to much, dont want ppl taking over and just die on purpose.
