Oh noes...the AIDS Researchers...
Just listened to Obama blathering about the AIDS researchers on the Malaysian flight. Oh noes...the AIDS researchers....suddenly this flight is more important than others, because of the AIDS researchers...

If it were just shmucks like you and I that had died…not so big a deal. But the AIDS researchers…oh noes…Anyone else think that every life is precious, not just the AIDS researchers….OH NOES!!!

WBC SoundCloud
The Westboro Baptist Church has a SoundCloud page. They have 7h30 worth of parodies, some good, some bad (in terms of singing, production, etc.).

In particular, 666 (Pumped-up Kicks) is fairly well done.

I think the bigger question is what does this do for Andrew Wiggins? Does Miami get the rookie in a sign and trade? Or what happens to Kevin Love now? I think there's a sign and trade involved, but it sends Wiggins to Minnesota for Love.

There's no way they move Wiggins. He can play with Lebron. Keep in mind that Cleveland has Dion Waiters and Anthony Bennett to move around too.

I agree with 2WL; Wiggins to Minny for Love seems likely

I have to say his explanation for returning to Cleveland is admirable in every facet of the word (and he apparently learned a little something because he didn't make his decision in an hour-long broadcast on ESPN).
bo_sox48 (5202 DMod(G))
11 Jul 14 UTC
I also wonder if Kyrie signed a 5-year deal this morning knowing that Lebron was coming.
WOOOOOO GOOOOOOO CAVSSSSSSSSS
@jmo - free points are always appreciated, even if i do find my current number amusing
if griffin can get love and keep wiggins, tt, dion and varejo he will be a god. those 5 plus lebron and kyrie would be ridiculous.

i know he won't, but it would be great. loving life
bo_sox48 (5202 DMod(G))
11 Jul 14 UTC
I forgot about Tristan Thompson. Him plus Dion and a little something else to Minnesota would pry Kevin Love away I imagine.
i know in basketball it doesn't mean much, but tt and lebron are tight, share agents etc. i think if we get love and have an okay bench the coming season will be great (er than it already will be)

WTF, Lebron back to Cleveland? Is he crazy?

Speechless.

There's a great read in Sports Illustrated about LeBron's decision. Can't link b/c I'm on mobile. LeBron talks about coming back to live in the community and wanting to raise his family there, to be a mentor to the guys on the Cavs team, etc. I have a ton of respect for his decision and I already liked him before. Great read

And the owners win.

How exactly? I haven't seen his contract deets yet but tbh owners win every time with a max player
Putin33 (111 D)
12 Jul 14 UTC
Because LeBron's decision represented the self-determination of athletes to choose their own destiny and not be pawns to be disposed of by owners. Other athletes decisions leaving the franchises who drafted them were made easier by LBJ's decision. LBJ groveling back to Gilbert nullifies all of that, and represents the final victory of the owners vs the players with the new labor contract.
Putin33 (111 D)
12 Jul 14 UTC
But LBJ would rather be loved. I get it. Well now he gets his love, and all the shirt burners can pretend like they admired him all along.
I hardly consider it crawling back! He left Cleveland of his own accord and proved himself in Miami, now he's left Miami of his own accord to return to his hometown team and help build his community. The whole NBA stopped for him to make his call; he clearly held all the power in this decision IMO.

In other news, Bosh isn't going to Houston, but is staying in Miami, and NOLA found a way to complete the Asik trade without giving up any of our core 6 or exceptions. It's fuckin Christmas
bo_sox48 (5202 DMod(G))
12 Jul 14 UTC
There was no reason for Cleveland to hate him in the first place, and the few Cavs fans I know were reasonable enough to see that he elevated that franchise on his own. Now he's got help in Kyrie and Wiggins (for now), and he might end up getting Love. They won't win it this year but by next, that's a hell of a lineup both inside and out.

I don't understand why Bosh went back to Miami. Was it money? Certainly wasn't rings. At a certain number of millions I'd think it's all just the same to them, plus there's no state taxes in Texas so he'll probably end up with a smaller difference between max in Miami and Houston's offer than would appear.
Who knows why Bosh stayed lmao
I'll happily take it, now the Rockets are screwed as far as getting a big talent goes. Putin called it
Putin33 (111 D)

Bosh likes the city and the money.

C'mon Bosh is much more rational than LeBron here.
MadMarx (36299 D(G))

LeBron had to go to Miami to learn how to win? What a joke. Jordan just figured it out without jumping on a bandwagon of buddies to gift him any titles. LeBron is far too weak mentally to ever be considered one of the all-time greats, even if his physical talents put him up there with the best. I had less than no respect for LeBron before today, but at least he's starting to figure things out.

As far as my Wolves, I hope they get something decent back for Love, and I'll be a fan of whichever team he goes to, just like with KG.
Putin33 (111 D)
12 Jul 14 UTC
"Jordan just figured it out without jumping on a bandwagon of buddies to gift him any titles."

So it's ok when the owners assemble a dream team but not when the players do it?
Nobody complained when the Lakers and Celtics were assembling dream teams in the 80s, in fact half the NBA haters point to that era as the greatest in NBA history.

Jordan had a very talented cast of "buddies" in Chicago, which is evident by the fact that Chicago did very well without Jordan when he retired. While Cleveland and now the Heat will be nothing without Lebron. Jordan played against boys in the 90s. I mean his biggest competition were Stockton and Malone for christ sake.

Oh nvm, finally saw Bosh's money. Holy shit. Yeah staying in Miami is the better move for him easily, he's probably leaving at least $20M on the table over those 5 years going to Houston.
Putin33 (111 D)
12 Jul 14 UTC
Yeah Bron probably did Bosh a favor. Now Heat desperate to pay Bosh. It's about time Arison paid for getting his titles on the cheap.
I hope Miami does Wade a solid and gives him a legacy contract like Kobe's. Maybe not as generous as Kobe's per se, but Wade took a chance on them by opting out, and since their plans for free agency are out the door now they might as well reward him, right?
Putin33 (111 D)
12 Jul 14 UTC
Legacy contracts are strange. But hey, if the owner is willing to grossly overpay a washed up player then so be it.
They are and I agree they're bad from a competitive standpoint, but that roster isn't winning shit in the next few years. Might as well pay the man and blow it up

What I've Been Saying About Gaza:
http://finance.yahoo.com/news/israel-iron-dome-could-prolong-195600244.html Main quote inside, but essentially--the Iron Dome, which has (thankfully) stopped hundreds of rocket attacks in just a few days now, has taken all pressure off Netanyahu to negotiate, while Hamas arguably stands to gain more from prolonging the conflict--ie, shooting rockets knowing they'll be intercepted and reprisals will come--than by making peace. So, settle in, boys and girls...

what is the average age of webdiplomacy players?
Is there a statistic? I want to know. In a game I felt I was playing with the stubbornness of a child. He/she wanted ALL his way. All the negotiation was "this is mine mine mine". He/she couldn't see the repercussions of a bad decision because he/she wanted the gratification of now.

Seriously, knowing the age of a person before starting a game or a negotiation can help a lot. Psychological speaking.
