That last game was pretty crazy.

I started off slow, not getting my fifth centre until 1904. But Kamen and I ran a very effective and patient Juggernaut, and we managed to roll through Austria (its alway a treat to eliminate Barn3tt!!) and Italy. If this hadn't been a tournament game, I would have definitely looked for a three way draw in around 1913.

But by 1913, the other two games had ended and I knew that I needed to either have 17 centres in a 4 way draw or board top a three way to advance. So unfortunately I had to stab my great ally Kamen (sorry!). It took six years, and you played some inspired defense but eventually i reached 17 centres. I never let England take Marseilles because that would have allowed him to reach seventeen centres on the other side of the stalemate line and i didnt want to risk that.

tbroadley, i thought you did play well at times by letting places like denmark and kiel stay unoccupied so kamen could deploy extra armies against me. but i guess you could have been more helpful; i was scared you'd try something creative like convoying to livonia in 1917 or 1918 to help russia. you also could have put holland in ruhr earlier thus stopping me from taking munich in 1917, which let me springboard into silesia and get moscow. I guess you were just trying to stop the solo and you didnt realize that i only needed 17 to advance (which is why i voted to draw as soon as i reached 17)

about marseilles, i just attacked it on a whim in 1920 because you guys hadnt voted draw yet....never expected to get it and solo.

finally, big ups to jcbryan97. you had only one unit for eight years but you always entered your orders and readied up incredibly promptly. thats awesome.

As Austria, I was pleased to have made it to 5 and was really looking forward to slugging it out with the jugger. Then I saw Italy's first build: an army. There was no way that I could hold out against Italy as well. 48v4stepansk, we could have done great things together! Rather curious as to what your thinking was.

Now this is embarrassing! I have overlooked draw vote from you, Frank. I was so certain that you are going for solo that at the end of the game I didn't check voting anymore.

@Tbroadley - you could make one of two things: support me in the way Frank said or take what was offered and latter decide to support my survival or not.

But it was a nice game and I have enjoyed it until the end. Sometimes trying to stay alive or to prolong the game and waiting for the miracle is a great joy too :-).

Hey finalists. I was a bit up in the air about breaking up the prize pool and posted it as wta, but would you rather have first get 505pts and second 125pts? I will leave that up to you, the people playing, but will run the wta if responses don't come in before the games start. Let me know

thanks trip, this is pretty interesting stuff and a decent sample size. it really shows that it's tough to play russia well in a gunboat. sort of surprised austria has done so well.
