I'm in game 1/3, but can't seem to join the others..... perhaps the player is not in CD in that game.

Great play in Game 2, JP. I figured you'd move on me, and that I'd be able to fall back and hold on to War & Mos, but I didn't even consider that you'd back off to a lesser stalemate and let Troo take me out. By the time I saw it, it was way too late. God I hate Russia in gunboats.

@ jcbryan97: I noticed Game 2 & 3 in your group are still paused, were you able to get hold of a mod?

It was the other way around, trip. Troo moved away so I could finish you. For a moment I resisted, because you did a great job stopping the solo, but then I thought that maybe I would need the extra points.

Ah yes, you're right. I was hoping that Turkey was part of the draw in game 3 and doing well in game 1, so the outcome wouldn't matter to him. No such luck.

If it makes any difference, I honestly felt bad about moving on you and not accepting the 3 way draw when there was the chance of giving Portugal to England.
But this game is like this...
We had a very strong alliance but I had to go for the stab...
By the time I did it I was still believing that there was the chance of the solo, but you played well and JP just wouldn't let me in bohemia...
When I saw it was impossible to win I had to try to convince him to go for your centers and get what would probably put me in the final, as it did.

Anyway, it was one of the best gunboats I have ever played. Great stratagy and great diplomacy. And the map is so beautiful all yellow and pink ;)

I just hope that group 1 games finish quick so that we can get 3 games moving again.

Indeed it was a great set of games, and Game 2 was special because near the end every little order was very important. I guess if Troodonte or myself had misordered in one of that critical phases, it could have handed the other player the solo. Keeping Bohemia free from Turkish armies was crucial, and made my moves towards the stalemate line a bit slower, but it was the only way to stop the solo. Russia did a great job slowing Turkey down while I moved armies to the East, so it was really cruel to take him out at the end, but that's a tournament, and I could see that being done to me if the situation was the other way around and Game 1 wasn't finished and had no clear definition. Maybe the end of Game 2 sped up Game 1's end?

I can understand what you mean JP, but I have to say that, in my opinion, even in tournaments (specially anonymous) I tend to try to play games independently. What I mean is even if I had guaranted a place in the final I would probably still try to get the best outcome from the last game.
I know that it is cruel sometimes, but in some way it is the spirit of this great game. After all it is a stabbing game.
But this is just y opinion. I accept other ways of seeing it.

@trip Can we unpause game 1/3 in Group 1 while we are waiting for 2/3 and 3/3?

@ Kamen: Yes, please do. I've contacted figle to force cd 2 & 3 again, and doofman to not log-in so jcb can pick them up. hopefully everything will work this time.

@ Troodonte & JP: There's no hard feelings. I'd have done the same thing if the roles were reversed.
