2011 Masters, Temporary Sub needed
I have a player that will be out for a month of the tournament, but would like to continue after that. Would anyone be willing to take over his games until he comes back? Otherwise I will have to replace him. Let me know, here or email me to [email protected]. Thanks!

Anone game 54780
Seeing suspicious behavior in game title 'Anone game' gameID=54780 looks like a Russian/German alliance in an anonymous game with no messaging... can the mods check this out and reassure me. Thanks.

longest games
Hi, I'm a player in Wittlesbach Interruption and we are on Spring 1916. Since I've started playing online Diplomacy I've noticed most games end around 1907 give or take a year. We're at 1916 and the leading player has only 11 SC. We are also on our third leader in this game. Anyone else play a very long game?

Regular reports of cheaters in games posted on the forum
Here's a little bit of advice for all the new / inexperienced guys out there. If you do your homework before or at the start of a game, you don't have to worry about joining these types of games becoming a problem. What I mean by "doing your homework" is to check the profile of the guys with whom you're playing (so long as it isn't an anonymous game). Here are some things on what to look for:

did the zero SC survive get fixed or do you have to have a unit to get it?
I just took a nations last SC for the win, but they got eliminated. I physically took it in the spring forcing a disband so I'm guessing you either have to have a unit to get the survive or the problem was fixed.

Some strange games going on in group 1. To bad I'm not playing in that in set.
I want a transfer:) I do like playing 3 games all at 1 time. Very interesting.

First game of round two complete: gameID=45565.

Great game everyone. Congrats IKE, trip and Troodonte.

I was worried after trip reshuffled it scared Troo into retreating I thought maybe we lost the stalemate. I am so thankful that Troo recognized the need for his fleet in Gulf of Lyons early enough.

That was fun.

I almost went to ion at the same time as troodonte.

Great game guys. That's two near solos for you this tourney, IKE. Well played.
That would have been damaging. We would have had one more chance to do it I think but we would have lost Marseilles. And if you had bounced a second time or both got cold feet we would have been sunk. Classic Prisoner's Dilemma that would have been.

Glad I went back and changed my order.

Thanks for not playing the Lepento.
I would have loved to play the Lepanto. Unfortunately (or fortunately I don't know) JP made that pretty difficult for me with his fleet build in Marseilles. Glad I played it safe in S02.

Great game guys.
I had some diffilcult moments against R and T but I managed to keep alive. I think I did some bad moves sometimes...
Yes, I went back because I feared the turkish stab when we were stalemating Germany.
About the fleet to GoL, it should have gone earlier, I think, because the turn before it arrived to GoL, germany could have gone for mar... he decided to hit spain to get MAO...
That was a good thing to happen for us...
Even if he got MAR I think we would have stalemated him at 17.

Good luck fr the rest of the games ;)
When he hit Spain it was supporting Marseilles so his cut effectively did nothing. I had given up on the MAO I knew Marseilles was more important especially with you coming to the rescue next turn MAO did not matter anymore.

But you're right about 17 I think. But still thanks to your fleet.

14 Jan 11 UTC
Well, 2 almost wins add up to 0. It's been fun & I look forward to next year. I needed to win this game. Sorry for stretching it out. I knew I could not get mars without MAO.
Did not matter in long run.
Are you sure you needed to win it? Don't speak too soon.
JesusPetry (258 D)
14 Jan 11 UTC
The fleet build in Marseilles was an error. I really should have built an army. But I think I did an important part of the job in stopping the solo, if that's any consolation. Good game, all!
Troodonte (3379 D)
15 Jan 11 UTC
You are right Lando... didin't notice that spain supported MAR and not MAO.
It was obvious that MAO would be lost and retreating to Portugal would seal the stalemate line.
