I noticed there are four disabled Variants to the game. Were these ever activated? Will they be activated? Does anybody know about this that can share?

How can we Prevent the Reverse Trickle Down Effect
Businesses have this awful habit of passing on increases in their taxes onto their customers, how can this be prevents. Are there certain forms of taxation that limit this effect? (Krellin et. all need not comment, I don't care about the arguments against taxation)

You have no such right to reserve. You will be permabanned from this site if I find you with a second account.

"Did a quick recount: between 80 and 90% of my games have been with a caught cheater. I bet you that is a webdip record!"

I think the most important thing is percentage of games with two or more cheaters. As if you just have one cheater in your game it isn't going to affect the outcome very much.
Well, the fact I reserved it technically means that I do have that right, because I have reserved it. And IF you find me I will expect a ban.

I guess that excludes the account name SantaClausowitz2

@damian: yes, I know. I'm not complaining. Even two isn't the end of the world -- odds are they aren't neighbours, and odds are the game will still be fun as you work towards beating the multis. An extra challenge doesn't hurt!
damian (675 D)
29 Oct 12 UTC
That was kind of my point. Multi's have less of an effect on the game then resigns. (In my experience.)

I will say I've never understood why changing account names was disallowed. People who voluntarily tell you they're doing so are, to my mind, that much less likely to be doing it illegally.

"Oh this Obi chap is charming muhahahahaha"

You have NO idea..... ;)

But Santa!
If you go, there's half the act gone! :O
After all, what's Gilbert without Sullivan, Rosencrantz without Guildenstern...

Satan without Santa!

Why, I'm just an anagram away from your name there, you HAVE to stay...

Who's going to say that a passage explicitly ordering the murder of women and children can be "interpreted" different ways!

(And yes, I AM bringing it up first this time...just had to. Well, no, I didn't, but then, you're worth the extra mile, Santa...even if it's Nine Circles to Hell for me!)

;)
obiwanobiwan (248 D)
29 Oct 12 UTC
(And to any and all comic opera fans--yes, they did works apart, but Gilbert without Sullivan and Sullivan without Gilbert...never quite the same, never the same heights, never as memorable...

And anyway, I NEVER have flame war eyes for anyone else, Santa!

...Well, HARDLY ever. Now give three cheers, I'll lead the way, hurrah, hurrah, hooray!)
obiwanobiwan (248 D)
29 Oct 12 UTC
"Why, I'm just an anagram away from your name there, you HAVE to stay..."

...Well, apparently an anagram with an extra "A" left over, but that's just to show the Grade A level of our partnership!
No worries Obi, I'll still think you are a complete idiot, but i might not vocalize it
obiwanobiwan (248 D)
29 Oct 12 UTC
No, no, insist you do...

After all, there's an art to criticism, just like there's an art to film-making--

And whatever you may think me as, YOU, sir, are the Ed Wood of all our critical discussions--

I think you fail, and miserably, each time, but damn if you don't have a passion to get up and try and again, and damned if I won't watch each failure of an attempt to justify this or that again and again.

After all, this is LA--we're trained to be captivated by terrible accidents and wrecks in progress...it's how we fill the time between being the most shallow county in America and not rooting for the football team we still don't have.
Is it failure when half or more people agree with me? You actually think I am the only one on here that thinks you are a complete fool?
semck83 (229 D(B))
29 Oct 12 UTC
"You have no such right to reserve. You will be permabanned from this site if I find you with a second account."

This strikes me as emblematic of all the problems with how power is used on this site. You are threatening the harshest possible punishment for somebody who is considering doing something that would not actually cause a single game to be compromised or unfair.

Could anything be more evocative of Ed Rooney?
obiwanobiwan (248 D)
29 Oct 12 UTC
It's a failure when you try and justify infanticide under any conditions, or take the Bible as literal in some cases and figurative in others just to suit your purposes...etc, etc, we'll never agree, so it's a waste of time for me to repeat it unless we're going to go off to the races again and have at it once more full on.

And...

I don't care what you think of me, SC.
Nor do I care what krellin thinks.
Or Putin (though I have to say for all his faults he's leaps and bounds ahead of the company stated so far in terms of eloquence, at least.)

Or most the community.

There are a select few who I genuinely do care what they might think...

As for the rest (with no undue offense to anyone) I say...

It's a WEBSITE.
It's a fraction of a fraction of a shadowy sliver of the whole life I lead.
I'm the most basic and crude representation of what I am, who I am in full color and life...
Everyone HERE is just a partial portion of who they are outside this forum of God debates and Shakespeare references and WWII, Stalin, Last Person to Post contests, again, etc, etc.

If the few who's opinion I care about would someday tell me I was worthless...I might be a bit hurt, but I think somehow I'd go on--I'd hardly be stable if mere internet criticism could fell me.

If you all disliked me, or even the majority, why, somehow, I'd manage.

And so your disliking me, SC, and your condemnation, taken in the context of someone who is neigh as impossible as Putin and not half as sharp, near as visceral as krellin yet not quite so entertaining, someone who'll condemn me but defend the slaughter of women and children...

I'm sorry, but it doesn't phase me.
Nothing more than a bad review for my little written-out act here.
What is it my good friend Billy said...ah, yes--
All the world's a stage, and the first thing we must do is to kill all the lawyers.

(Well, erm, he did say both, though quite possibly not in the same breath...or play...)

And if you can't take bad reviews, in writing or politics or life, then you're done.

Get tough or get out--*I* am certainly not going anywhere...

So take it in stride or stride, SC!

(Seems like a music cue should be there for a dance number...except I can't dance...)
obiwanobiwan (248 D)

*So take it in stride or stride on out, SC!

(Don't you just hate it when it's the last line that gets flubbed? A middle one and it might get overlooked, but the end...oh well.)
You would fall for Putin's shtick.
obiwanobiwan (248 D)
29 Oct 12 UTC
I've fallen for what now?

I haven't taken a thing from Putin--why would I, he and I fight almost as much as you and me.

(Though if that's his take on the whole thing too, that revolutionary idea that maybe, just maybe, a forum isn't your whole life so have fun and pitch ideas and don't take it or yourself so seriously...well, I can't fault Putin for having a good idea, then--especially when it's one I share, after all.)
There you go again. You are on here twice the time I am yet somehow this forum is my whole life. Same old shit. Mirroring I believe they call it.
and funny how I can't "pitch ideas" with out being called a genocidal maniac and a disgrace to my dead relatives.

SC, I don't turn my laptop off.
I don't close Google.
Or any of my tabs.

I'm logged into this and Facebook and YouTube and whatever else happens to be open on my laptop nearly 24/7, awake or asleep, whether I'm writing or not.

And I've said it before--

I type fast.

Anyway, all you have are the same old points to rehash, you're not bringing anything new to the table right now...

And it's keeping the act stale--you have to stay new, fresh, liven things up!
Its, funny because my "same old points" are responses to your posts. Perhaps there is some connection...

When last I read, this thread was about starting new accounts to counteract the ruined initial account. When I open the thread just now, I first read this:

"It's a failure when you try and justify infanticide under any conditions,"

Did I open the wrong thread? How the hell do we go from starting new accounts to infanticide???
Never mind I can't see the possible connection...
No worries dubmdell, this is what Obi does. The funny thing if I actually took the bate he would have given me shit for bringing it up.

It's a WebDip thread with two feuding members, dubmdell--

Continuity? What's that?

(And I already said I opened the can of worms this time, SC, no need to get defensive.)
