Last turn I took 3 SC's. I specifically remember building an army in Sevastopol, and there is nothing there. I checked the orders and there's nothing there. Im playing as Russia.

U.S. Ambassador Killed

Looks like foreign policy just became part of the debate this election....
How should the U.S. respond?

I think we should start spewing out these blaphemous videos left and right on a continuous basis so either these dumbshits end up killing each other when they can't find any more embassies or starbucks to storm, or they fucking just get over it.
About the American embassy in Iran... the Iranian revolutionaries took it over because the United States overthrew the democratically elected Iranian government back in 1953. It was called "Operation Ajax," and it was run out of the American embassy in Tehran.

Iran actually has quite a few very good reasons not to trust the United States.

Everyone knows Obama planned this. He saw how successful the Bush attacks on the WTC were, so Obama planned this to create a little crisis, solidify the American people behind his leadership - can't change leaders when the winds of war are blowing. The whole blowing off Netty in Isreal was part of the plan - to provoke Isreal to attack before the election - again creating a crisis during which he thinks the American people will not want to change leaders.

Obama, therefore, is responsible for the Ambassador's death, and we all know it! <tongue firmly in cheek, please...>
Tolstoy (1962 D)

Not buying the official story. There are dozens of anti-Islamic "documentaries" floating around the internet, why does this one 'cause' a riot? The media of course is making it sound like the people of Egypt and Libya have *absolutely nothing else* to be angry with the US for. And how exactly does an angry mob get through what is likely a heavily fortified embassy compound and kill the top guy and one of his chief deputies, out of probably hundreds of embassy workers?

~Tolstoy, the US Gov are also denying a link to the 9-11 Anniversary. Lol. And the mob *carrying* the Ambassador were trying to help him...what, no cars there?

Tolstoy - I see you can't read. He was enroute to a safer location when his convoy was attacked. He wasn't *in* the embassy, moron.

Those who call people on the forums idiots or morons or dumbfucks or whatever you prefer, may I ask why? Makes you look like, uhh… idiots, morons, and dumbfucks.

And Tolstoy, I agree with the context of your post. Unreasonable is one thing but I can't see a single propaganda video being all the buzz. If they have access to movies over here that I've never heard of, don't they have access to Comedy Central too?
Tolstoy (1962 D)

"Militants holding machine guns and rocket propelled grenades raided the embassy at night, as shown by a Reuters video, setting fire to the compound and eventually killing four personnel. Stevens died of suffocation, while the three other personnel were killed by gunshot wounds"

No sign of a convoy in this news story, Draug. The CBS story linked within says he was moved to another building, but doesn't specify the means of conveyance. It also says he dies of smoke-related asphyxiation (apparently after moving to the second building).
Draugnar (0 DX)
12 Sep 12 UTC
My misinterpretation then. I viewed it as meaning a whole new compound but I could have sworn I read he was being moved at the time. On my phome so difficult to check. Assuming I misread, then I am.the moron and apologize.
krellin (80 DX)
12 Sep 12 UTC
Draug - I have heard multiple reports on where he was....as the Administration modifies the story over and over again to try to make it look like whatever happened it was jus a bunch of good Libyan rioters trying to help a dying man....lol...because that literally is about the gist of the latest spin I heard on NPR.

"Let's see. It was an Israeli who wrote, directed, and produced the movie that triggered the riots. I say bomb the fuck out of Israel and show support to Islam. Then maybe they'll stop equating America with those bastard genocidal freaks in Israel who won't be happy until Israel owns all of the Middle East."

Because it was Israel, of course, that just attacked our people after we've given them aid...and it was, of course, Israel who attacked us on 9/11...and it's Israel, OF COURSE, that has chanted "Death to America" for decades in the region.

Of course.

On a related note, I think we should bomb the UK as well to try and improve our relations with Egypt, given England's historical presence there--I mean, destroying our greatest ally to win over a nation in chaos is surely the way to go, right, Draug?
To be fair, actually, the building he was in was a consulate, not the embassy itself, so it probably wasn't as well protected.

CNN provides a much more convoluted picture, but also a more complete one. There are two different narratives in here (one from the US gov and one from Libyans) and I wonder which one is accurate.
http://www.cnn.com/2012/09/12/world/africa/libya-us-ambassador-killed/index.html

I'm just wondering why he had such a small security detail with him and moreso *why* would they target the American ambassador....one who abandoned Tripoli and went to Benghazi to help the rebels. I agree with Eden, the whole thing is senseless and Muslims just have to suck it up and tolerate their prophet for being mocked. Christians certainly deal with it just fine....comparatively.

And in the meantime...what does Romney do?

Campaign campaign campaign and try and turn this tragedy into Electoral Gold, of course!

Why, he hardly waited a few HOURS to start lambasting Obama and our government on everything in the region...

Because, after all--

When 9/11 in 2001 happened, that's what we all did, right?

We didn't come together, if even for a few days, and set politics aside and show respect for the dead...

We immediately fell into partisan, cold-hearted, capricious bickering and attempted to turn a tragedy into political gain...

That's the COMPASSIONATE thing to do, right?

All that time at the RNC about just how COMPASSIONATE Mitt Romney is--and what does he do here but show what "compassion" means to him--

Namely, your dying for your country leaves him cackling with glee and shooting off his mouth with no respect for the dead to try and make political hay out a tragedy when said tragedy isn't even fully 24 hours old yet.

Yep.

TRULY this is a compassionate, caring man...

Like I said, it's time to send our 94 B-52s over there and just start carpet bombing some cities just to make a point. We can't screw around anymore. Diplomacy time is over.
@obi - it was a poor response by our administration anyways. Basically saying "Okay, we understand why you did it and the bad man on the internet DID say some nasty things, but please dont do that again" is an extremely weak position for the supposedly most powerful country in the world to take.

@gunfighter - carpet bombing is never the option. Just wait until the oil dries up and we can stop giving a shit about what these people think or do.
Tolstoy (1962 D)

"Christians certainly deal with it just fine....comparatively."

Movie theaters that showed "The Last Temptation of Christ" had protesting Christians in front of them and bomb threats called in. The movie had a pretty short run as a result, and is banned in some Christian countries. Its crime was to portray Jesus as less than enthusiastic about being his destiny/mission/crucifixion; I shudder to think what would happen in this country if a Muslim filmmaker created a movie portraying Jesus sodomizing young boys, ripping people off with fake healings, and living a life of luxury while telling the homeless to "get a job!".

(of course, no Muslim filmmaker would ever do such a thing, since Jesus is revered as a prophet in Islam)

"[Israel is] our greatest ally" - citation needed
krellin (80 DX)

Tolstoy...prove Christians called in a bomb threat. As for protesting, that hardly equivalent to murdering 4 people. Your LAME attempt to smear Christians is pathetic.
obiwanobiwan (248 D)

@gunfighter:

Whether Obama's response was good or bad is irrelevant--

I'm not so idealistically foolish to say Romney couldn't ever bring it up...it will come up in an election year, of course.

BUT...can't we all agree--it was sleazy to do it TODAY? Wouldn't have been more respectful to the DEAD--not to Obama, mind, to the fallen and their families--to at least wait a day or two BEFORE turning this into a political shooting match?

Doing t now, when the bodies are practically still warm, that just comes off as Romney being cold and calculating and, again, nothing like the "compassionate, man-of-the-people Romney" the RNC tried so hard to paint.

Who among us HERE would not have AT LEAST have waited 24, 48 hours?

It's not as if he HAD to say it then--America (and the world) would have still been extremely attentive to this whole crisis and a Romney response to it and Obama a day or two from now.

He didn't have to do it NOW is what I'm saying, doing it at all is tacky, but in an election year, I understand it's a necessary evil...but he could have (and SHOULD HAVE) waited a day or two, now he just looks like someone trying to take advantage of a tragedy for his own gain--

How well will THAT go over?
Tolstoy (1962 D)

How about an actual bomb? From wikipedia:

"On October 22, 1988, a French Christian fundamentalist group launched Molotov cocktails inside the Parisian Saint Michel movie theater while it was showing the film. This attack injured thirteen people, four of whom were severely burned.[8][9] The Saint Michel theater was heavily damaged,"

@Tolstoy:

Well said, +1.

@krellin:

You REALLY don't want to get into this discussion.

If you do, you're as stupid as you are inane and bombastic.

Christians have, through the centuries, have shed just as much blood over Jesus as Muslims have shed over Muhammad.

It's not "smearing Christians" when blasphemy was punishable by death for centuries in the Christian world, and when White Power Christian groups commit hate crimes in the name of their ethnicity and Christianity to this day.

Do the actions of those fanatics color all Christians?
Absolutely not.
So you'll understand that these actions do not color all Muslims...

So you'll kindly step away from your anti-Muslim bigotry, if you please.

And I said nothing anti-Muslim jackass. I said killing 4 people - WHICH HAPPENED - is not the equivalent of an anonymous bomb threat...with no bomb. God how stupid and pathetic you are in your lame attempt to smear Christians. Pathetic. If you don't like religion, fine, but you twisting of reality demonstrates the real hateful bigot here, Obi - it's you. You never miss a chance to hate on Christians - so predictable.

@Obitard - It was said sarcastically, fuckwit. Read my more serious post a little farther down. Jesus, for some literary wannabe you sure prove time and again how you take dark humor seriously and allegory literally. Maybe someday you will learn to tell exposition from exaggeration.

100 questions
I will provide a scenario to you all, and then ask you a question. You may all ask as many questions as you want to get to the answer to my question, but I'll only answer "yes," "no," or "it doesn't matter." If you already know the answer, please don't spoil it for the others. This is a group activity so read what others have asked and work together (in my experience, 2 people solve it much more quickly than 1, and a group of 4 usually gets it in 20-30 min. of so).

Hey guys! I wanna have sex. So instead of doing something normal, like, you know, asking my parents about it...I'm gonna ask a whole bunch of strangers on the internet. 'Cause, you know, I'm gonna be this big badass college guy who has sex all the time. Oh, yeah, how do babies work again? Why wouldn't mods add more variants of game? At least these: Europe 1939, Colonial Diplomacy, Modern Diplomacy II, Youngstown - Redux.
May be these maps aren't balanced as well as existing ones, but I think they would be popular.

How does Drawing affect Ghost Rating?
If I draw a game with very bad players, due to somebody CDing or cheating, and it ends in a 6-way-draw with players that have really bad GR, my GR will probably decrease, or will it? And in winner-takes-all games, is drawing less equalized than in PPSC? thank you in advance.
