Well I don't think there is a Bro code first of all. Most of the guys who keep harping about the bro code are also the ones who break that code when it benefits them, or when they decide that guy isn't even really their bro after all. For instance I used to hang out with this guy from work and he was pretty chill. His girl and him broke up a few weeks ago and I was thinking of going for her. I think maybe the better thing to do would be to either "ask" the guy something like..."hey would it be alright man..?" or if your really assertive just say "this is how its gonna be she wants me, i'm down to bang, no offense, but i'm just letting you know "BRO" whats about to go down, anyhow here's a taco from taco bell peace man"...

Of course I do consider this guy an aqcuaintance, I wouldnt say friend. But that also doesn't really factor into the whole game that's being discussed. My best friend and I have literally never been possessive about women. On my birthday he kept telling this girl hes been dating to keep kissing me and he was laughing the whole time. Nonsense, Thucy. Dictionaries say how words are used. That's how orathaic was using it.

What I'm saying is is that something is not wrong just because it is not in the dictionary. The dictionary records the reality of the language. The dictionary does not tell us what our language is, we tell the dictionaries.

Right, I get that. But in this context, orathaic was arguing about the meaning of a word, which is to say, how it is used. I doubt he'd disagree with what you say here (though I shouldn't speak for him). And quoting a dictionary is a perfectly legitimate way to determine that.
