A myth is a way to explain something based off of something that is not true. I believe what I believe but I do not know that all other religions are myths. I could also use that against the evolution. The theory of evolution is used to explain something and it is a fabulous story. If you say creationism is a myth than so would evolution.

1. A science major can correct me if I'm wrong here...but TBBT doesn't teach everything was "an accident"...especially as an accident implies an accidental and unintended cause, and as we don't know the cause of the Big Bang (though I hear we have some really cool and hopefully promising theories) we logically can't call it's cause, whatever it was, an "accident." Even throwing that out, however, TBBT and Evolution DO NOT teach pure random accident and chance, but causal, logical progression of events as well as natural selection over time on a biological level...ie, NOT chance.

No, you're not stupid for holding beliefs...you're just sounding rather stupid for suggesting we take your beliefs with the same weight as scientific theory with factual evidence and teach the story of two naked people in a garden with a talking snake alongside Darwin's Theory which has been, again, pretty well upheld in its overall principle by pretty much all of biology and genetics.

I hate reposting. I have read and listened to theories about evolution and other religions. I do not agree with them but you are right to make your claim. Plus what is religion? Details of belief as taught or discussed. Well science can fit into that too. Aethism is a religion and so is science. What I am trying to say is that if one religion should be taught all should be taught. If you had kids you wouldn't liking me taking them to church and telling them all that they believe is a lie and this is the truth. My point was we shouldn't be doing that at school.

Yes, I believe that God created most of the species in the beggining and the rest were created by his design when they migrated to new areas. I am an adaptionist too.

Science is a method, not a belief system. It is a way of making predictive models of the world around us. It's not something you just "believe," it is something that can be confirmed by evidence.

That's why it belongs in schools (why are we even arguing this?) and religion does not.
