Muting Mods
When Thucydides left the site for a bit, he made an announcement on the forum and his mod powers were revoked. Someone suggested the idea of muting him to see what happened when he came back and his mod powers were restored. (You can't mute mods.) So, I did. I have now looked at his profile and discovered that he is now a mod again. However, I cannot unmute him.

A Final Game
I doubt many people will remember me, but I used to be quite a keen player on the site. I left almost a year ago now, but am back and determined to organize one final (and hopefully epic) game.

How much do you chat in game?
We seen the stats before about the average number of messages per game. That is one way of looking at it. But some people post lots of short messages, while others write essays. How much do you really write?

People of webDiplomacy: What is your MBTI Personality Type/Socionics type?
I'm off today and thinking about the subject because my girlfriend and I talk about this quite a lot, especially in regard to other people, and I've a feeling the implications of it translate well in predicting Diplomacy behavior. So what are you?

I scored both INTP and ISTP on online surveys but in paper testing, I also got ENTP and ENFP. Apart from perceiving, it seems to bad on how well I slept that particular day :)
ulytau (541 D)

*depend, not bad

Generally, E/I is the most volatile, N/S more in N, F/T more in T and P/J is clearly P.

"Some Rationals seem so cold and logical that it's hard to imagine them doing something as frivolous as falling in love."

And you all wonder why I'm not one for romance or sex or any of that...(OK, well, maybe no one was wondering, and I'm just being ponderous, but still...) ;)

I'm surprised by the number of introverts. I think face-to-face diplomacy is much better if you're extroverted... you can make wild propositions and sell them, imo
obiwanobiwan (248 D)
20 Dec 11 UTC
Anyone else think it'd be fun if we set up a "type-vs.-type" game?
ghug (5068 D(B))
20 Dec 11 UTC
@patizcool I think many of us Is are introverted by choice, I know I can be extroverted when I want/need to be, and I can definitely talk persuasively. I think the more direct correlation that can be drawn from that is that people that would spend time online playing strategy games are likely to be nerdy in nature.
MadMarx (36299 D(G))
20 Dec 11 UTC
I agree, obiwan, an INTJ game would be an interesting experiment (though I'm planning to take a few months off soon).
obiwanobiwan (248 D)
20 Dec 11 UTC
But I'm ENTJ... ;)

I meant different types...say, a World game, so we can get a variety of the different combinations?
patizcool (100 D)
20 Dec 11 UTC
@ghug
Perhaps you're right... though I don't know if nerdy directly corresponds with introverted. I'm definitely nerdy lol, I'm not shy about it, though :p
MadMarx (36299 D(G))
20 Dec 11 UTC
I thought it would be interesting to have all the same types in a game, and I guess it would be equally interesting to have all different types in a game. For some reason I'd be more interested in playing all the same, partially because it would be interesting to see how all of the people that are supposed to think alike will actually think much differently.

I dunno, whichever folks like...

Anyone else have an idea on this?

I took the test with the link Marx listed but I have no idea how to comprehend what any of it means.
Kochevnik (1160 D)

ENTJ. I'm a bit surprised. I took this back in college or high school and was ENTJ, but I would have thought that I had 'softened' quite a bit with having kids. I know I have much more empathy for others than I did back then, and I find myself getting emotional over things that didn't use to affect me.

I guess, deep down, I'm still the same person I was, just tempered.
TheJok3r (765 D)

I got ISTJ. I only saw one other person with that result. Whooo for being minority!
Mr_rb (594 D)
20 Dec 11 UTC
Amusingly enough ISTJ apparently is the most common type, although clearly not on this site for some reason.

Interestingly, my first job suggestion was "Management in Business or Education". I have an MBA, own a small business+working at a big company as campaign manager, and in addition I am planning in the future to move to Education Management. Heh.

More interestingly, in the description, it says: "TRADEMARK: -- "I'm really sorry you have to die." "
