I was just pointing out that this should maybe be a three tier voting. Start at 5, 25, 125 by tier. Unoriginals like Megadeath and newer groups like Linkin Park or Staind would be tier three. If they have/had less than a decade, they are tier three. Got at least a decade but less than 30, tier 2 (that would include Dire Straits, Police, U2, B-52s, Berlin, Rush, Creed). Lifelong careers or classics from the 70s or earlier would be tier 1 (Beatles, Stones, Hendrix, Eagles, Zep, Fleetwood Mac, Kansas, Boston).

@Draug: What does it matter how old they are?

U2, could make top 4. Obviously Stones and Beatles are shoe-ins for the Mt. Rushmore.

Not how old, how many years (total body of work) they have been performing. Sorry, but Staind (who I love) doesn't have the body of work of the Stones or The Eagles.

I made my list based on popularity and genre representation.

Then it is interesting how you left some multiplatinum bands off and included tribute bands. You should have gone to RollingStone.com and got their top lists to make your lists from.
