Missed Retreat phase?
Would one of the mods mind looking at this game? It appears that there might have been a missed retreat phase. One of Italy's units has not followed the retreat orders that were given.

Gregg Allman asked me for a doob once, after a show he did one night at a bar in Toronto called The Nag's Head.

I didn't have one.

If I did, then Gregg Allman would have, briefly, thought that I was cool.

So do drugs, because you never know.

@Geofram - all tobacco contains nicotine. Fine cigars are made from whole leaf, no additives or anything, and they contain nicotine. you are fooling yourself if you think the tobacco in a hooka doesn't contain any.

Facts about hookah smoking that will dispel your myths. Please note, this is from the Mayo Clinic.

Well I smoked weed everyday for a number of months and I think I have a suggestion. Assuming the legality of the matter doesn't bother you I feel everyone should try weed once, and by try it once I mean get high off it once. The effects of it on me ranged from intense waking dreams whilst lying on my couch and listening to a band called entheogenic (I'd recommend them) to going and doing an intense work out for 3 hours. It all depends on the strain and it was wonderfully stress relieving.

That said, there are some very negative effects. Unlike most other drugs prolonged use does not make you less sensitive to the drug but more. This is because the THC will stay in your body (usually your muscles. but also your blood stream) at a concentration that is lower than what you need to get high but essentially gives you a head start. Even with that however having a supply for a month of everyday use of say middies (mid range strains don't really have a name, very common, and easy to get) can cost anywhere from 150 to 500 dollars a month depending on your area. Now while this may seem like a minor thing it is actually a huge problem, the munchies. having the munchies everyday for a month will cost about 250 dollars extra in groceries and strange food that you buy while high. It will also lead to massive weight gain. During my months of usage I gained about 25 pounds, even though I was working out everyday with a former army drill instructor and an ROTC Ranger Challenge team. So trust me, you cant just work its effects off. Prolonged usage (more than 8-9 months) can also have a permanent effect on your nervous system. While most believe that Marijuana is an upper (something that brings you up, gives you a high, or lots of energy) in reality it is a depressent like alcohol. Its effects however are very gradual and take time but are more permanent. Over time you will become more and more apathetic until it at one point can cost you your job, family, or even life. Other people live with it just fine though, a friend of mine who has been smoking for 3 years has this apathy but has a great relationship and plays in a band regularly, so the apathy need not apply to everyone. Another thing that need not apply to everyone is a leeching of energy over time the THC will drain your ability to quickly rouse energy and the dispersal of adrenaline. This effect only become a problem after years of heavy usage though.

My last tidbit however concerns quitting. Even after smoking daily for around 5 months, I was able to quit within 24 hours. While sometimes I want to smoke, it is nothing more than sometimes I want to kick the shit out of the asshole driver on the road in front of me. It is not an addictive want just a minor desire. There, that's my piece on weed. My personal motto is this though, if it doesn't grow in the ground, don't use it. (only concerning drugs)
Draugnar (0 DX)
20 Nov 09 UTC
The poppy seed used to make opium/heroin grows in the ground. Are you going to try it? And does alcohol qualify? I mean, potatoes and grapes and barley and hopps and all the other fruits, veggies, and grains that are fermented and distilled grow in the ground.
Puddle (413 D)
20 Nov 09 UTC
well the poppy seed has to be altered, and so does alcohol, im leery of alcohol, and I would never do the other two, but cannabis and shrooms are usable straight from the plant requiring no alterations therefore I am okay with them
I'd say don't do drugs for fear of the unknown. Definitely not any illegal ones.

It's Red Ribbon Week 'Don't do Drugs' at my school. I feel like I've done my part to make the world a better place today.

@Puddle, you are okay with cannabis and shrooms because they are natural? You know there are plenty of natural things that'll kill you right? Just because something is natural doesn't mean it is safe or even safer.
Geofram (130 D(B))
21 Nov 09 UTC
Humans have gotten better and better at doing terrible things to their body, but shrooms and hash have been around for a very long time. Given that extensive history, the side effects and consequences have been known even longer than the drug has been illegal.
Puddle (413 D)
21 Nov 09 UTC
the last comment was a flippant one meant to end the post, its just my own personal policy for drugs, its sorta based around a religious viewpoint, but Im not going to defend it any longer, its kinda a long standing cliche among smokers and it has a lot of holes. ignore that part of the post and look at the rest, the rest of it is solid
Geofram (130 D(B))
21 Nov 09 UTC
The rest of your post just says, "if you do drugs in extreme amounts over a long period of time, there will probably be long term consequences."

Uh, duh.
lkruijsw (100 D)

There is misunderstanding about drugs in this thread. I have someone close that has cocaine addiction.

It is not bad to do something extreme. It is also not bad to do something extreme for long period of time. But the problem is, it is addictive. It is like a super glue to your life. You can not say, I do this for a certain period of time and then stop. Then you ignore the fact that it is addictive.

The person I was talking about (42 years old, started in his twenties), tries to stop. He may not drink alcohol, because if he does he also starts to use cocaine. This happens once a year now. Then he looses about 1000 to 2000 euro in a period of about 3 days. Then his body totally exhausted (you don't need to sleep with cocaine, but you have to pay the price later) and he is in total depression for one day (much worse then any illness you know). After that day he starts to recover a little bit. But full physical recovery takes about a week, while the mental recovery takes about 2 months.

You don't understand addiction.

could someone explain to me what drugs made from fertilizer is all about?
1 Is it legal? I'm interested primary about UK, but would also like to know how it is catogorised globally.
2 is it harmful? to help me understand please respond by citing how relatively harmful it is. ie more harmful than crack or less harmful than coffee (or horse riding)
3 is it expensive?
4 is it out there or is it all hype?
Thanks in advance, I know I can really on you guys/girls to educate me.

@Lucas or Ikruijsw:

"It is not bad to do something extreme. It is also not bad to do something extreme for long period of time."

You're absolutely hollow between your ears. Ever heard of an overdose? Or the permanent effects of repetitive drug abuse?
Puddle (413 D)
21 Nov 09 UTC
@Geofram Yea its easy to say that doing drugs over a long period of time is bad, but my post is about the specifics and gives a much better idea as to specifically what is bad about marijuana, the OP wanted good information, not vague common advice.
lkruijsw (100 D)
21 Nov 09 UTC
@Geofram,

That has not much to do with doing something "extreme" in general form. You can also do extreme things with sex or other things.

About overdose, only a very small amount of drug users die due to direct consequences of the drug. For instance, heroine works direct on your brains
and has no effect on your body. The indirect effect of heroine is that people start
to neglect their selves and may die as consequence (getting ill, not eating etc.).

For cocaine, the most common way to die is a combination of coke and
alcohol. It starts a chemical reaction in the brain. It is very hard to die from
just coke alone.

If you look the physical effect on the body, one the most dangerous drug is
alcohol, because it effects all cells in your body. Alcohol is the only drug
that is dangerous to do 'Cold Turkey" in case of heavy use (more than
one bottle distilled a day).

Effects of repetitive drug use, are for most drugs, except for alcohol and
smoking, only psychological and not physical.

But, the point I want to make, is that in the discussion I saw that people do not understand addiction.

If you say that you will use cocaine for half a year, I am sure that you will perfectly healthy after that half year (much better health than using alcohol or cigarettes),
but you will terrible addicted and you will not be able to stop.

Problems will start only after years, when you loose all your money to the drug,
not having money for your health, loosing social life and escalating other problems.
You will be in downward spiral.

This whole "I know somebody that did tons of Y drug, let me learn you a lesson." is stupid.

Just like the ones prescribed by a physician, every drug reacts differently to every body. Check the NIDA for all the broad side-effects and symptoms, make sure they don't collide with any preexisting collisions, and take the risk if you want to.

The only first hand encounters you'll get are people that either:
a) hate drugs because they haven't tried them
b) was on drugs but had an epihpany and now they are of the same mindset as A
c) loves drugs
Geofram (130 D(B))
21 Nov 09 UTC
How can you put terribly addicted and healthy in the same sentence?
lkruijsw (100 D)
21 Nov 09 UTC
@Maniac,

There is one easy legal drug and that is nutmeg.

But beware, it works like a binary switch. If the amount of nutmeg in your
blood is above a certain percentage you are stoned. If it is below that
percentage, you are not stoned.

The percentage will decrease slowly. Meaning, if you eat too much, you
may stay stoned for several days.

As I said in earlier post, the physical effects of most drugs are not very
dangerous if you have good quality and it is not mixed with other chemicals.

I would not try anything (well, in fact I never tried anything), experimental based
on fertilizer. If you want to try something, be sure have good stuff.

The direct physical effect of use of crack is not dangerous, but crack
is extremely addictive. Only one time use is enough to get addicted.
Therefore, crack is extremely dangerous.

If you really want to try something, make a trip to Holland and try some
marijuana. The addictive effects are much less. If you do it there, you
keep it out of your own environment at home. Meaning, that you don't
heavy easy access.

Other drug that is less dangerous is XTC. It is not much less addictive
(some say that it isn't addictive) then other drugs.

Don't try crack, coke, speed or heroine. You destroy your life.

Lucas
lkruijsw (100 D)

@Geofram

Healthy concerning your body without your brain.

Coke and heroine work direct on your brain and not all the other cells of your body.
Alcohol get in every cell of your body. Cigarettes gives you bad lungs.

Lucas
Geofram (130 D(B))
21 Nov 09 UTC
Right, because as long as your body is healthy, it doesn't matter what state of function your brain is in...
Draugnar (0 DX)
22 Nov 09 UTC
@lkruijsw - Since when is the brain not part of the body? Does it not feed impulses to the autonomic systems (heart, lungs, etc.) and does it not depend on those systems to feed it (requires oxygenated blood)? What affects te brain affects the *rest* of the body (notice the emphasis on rest) and what affects the cells that make up oru body affects our brains because they are part of the body and contain those cells. Your separation is a flase separation and you deceive yourself if you think that altering your mind doesn't risk the rest of your body and therefore your life.
Geofram (130 D(B))
22 Nov 09 UTC
You missed my sarcasm tags again Draugnar!
lkruijsw (100 D)
22 Nov 09 UTC
I didn't say that, in contrary.

I got the impression from some remarks that some people see overdose and the physical effects as the main danger of drugs. It doesn't work that way, drugs destroy a life in much different way.

Lucas
