Petition to ban Capt Brad from full press games
Hi everyone. I'm starting a petition to ban capt brad from full press games. I love capt brad as much as the next person, but I think he's harming the integrity (or something) of the non-password protected full press community. Not only is he in 47 games, but he doesn't send press. Someone pls stop this

Abusive PMs
Is it possible to block someone from sending you messages? There's a user who is sending abusive PMs to a few players who played a game with him a few weeks ago.

Not that I'm exactly getting upset about being called a colossal berk, but it's annoying when you think it might be a legitimate message each time

Tom Cotton (AR) to replace Paul Ryan?
Looks like Bannon is setting up Tom Cotton to replace Paul Ryan as speaker of the house. At least getting rid of Ryan is one part of #MAGA that I can get behind.

I know lots of Americans talk the talk when it cones to states rights. But how do you feel about treaties signed with Indian Tribes guarenteeing their sovereignty? (What rights should they have? WASHINGTON — President Trump wrote off $100 million in business losses to reduce his federal taxes in 2005, according to forms made public on Tuesday night in a rare glimpse at documents that he has refused to disclose since becoming a candidate for the nation’s highest office.

Write off is a buzzword to use here. Losses from a business are allowed to be carried forward to future years as deductions against income. The only way to have losses is to have basis, basis is created by putting money in. It's not advantageous to put in money and lose it in order to have tax free income later.

The forms showed that Mr. Trump paid $38 million in federal income taxes on reported income of $150 million, an effective tax rate of 25 percent, according to Rachel Maddow, who aired them on her MSNBC show. By claiming losses from previous years, Mr. Trump was able to save tens of millions of dollars in taxes that he otherwise might have owed.

Wow he was able to save tens of millions in tax by actually losing that money in prior years, dishonest reporting.

I voted for Rubio, I like that there is a "republican" in office for the Supreme Court noms, but I would have much rather had Rubio or Cruz, but it annoys me that the media just reports buzzwords to trick those that don't know any better into believing there rhetoric.

The tax return was stamped "Client Copy" so it didn't come from the IRS. It came either from the Trump camp or from his accountants. If it was from his accountants, they'd have access to all pages of the return. Thus, with only 2 pages of the return thrown "over the transom", it must have come from the Trump camp.

Donald Trump has posed as his own publicist in the past, most notably as John Miller, to leak information he wants the press to publish. These 2 pages look awesome for Trump. It's exactly what I'd want "leaked" to the press if I were Trump.

More questions than answer. Who are his partners in those S-corps? What get massive capital gains yet give practically no dividends? Not much info still. We need the full returns.

In other news, Trumpcare is expected by the CBO to save social security $3 billion a year because of some 29,000 expected premature deaths related to lack of coverage. What wonderful people!
Hauta (1618 D(S))
15 Mar 17 UTC
agreed, the CBO sees it as a win for "the system" when older people under Trumpcare opt not to spend 60% of their income on insurance. Such people need lots of healthcare (i.e., make a lot of claims). They won't get the care they need until they have a crisis and clog the emergency room, giving the burden to the hospitals who have to treat these uninsured train wrecks.
Gen. Lee (7588 D(B))
15 Mar 17 UTC
@ogion most S corps don't have dividends, capital gains could come from many things, sale of real estate, sale of ownership in other businesses. Only reason you would really see dividends is if the S corp was invested in stocks.
Hauta (1618 D(S))
15 Mar 17 UTC
@ogion, where'd you get the S corp thing? I thought Trump was an LLC guy.
Gen. Lee (7588 D(B))
15 Mar 17 UTC
Also you don't have to have partners in an S corp. They can be owned by 1 person.
Gen. Lee (7588 D(B))
15 Mar 17 UTC
LLC can be treated as an S corp, partnership, sole proprietorship or corporation depending on what is elected.

Such a letdown. Tax return from the old sexual-assaulting Trump years, not from the corrupt politician years.

How long do you think he's been a politician? He was practically a newborn as far as politicians go when he joined the Presidential race. All his ties that are biting him in the ass stem from his business dealings and carried over because that's all he knows.
Randomizer (722 D)

Trump's business losses weren't his own money. As explained before the election, Trump used a real estate developer's tax break that allowed him to claim the losses from other people's money that were invested in his projects. So Trump probably lost none of his own money that he could then take off his taxes.

@ Gen. Lee. - Trump said during the primaries to explain his donations to H. Clinton that it was a business cost. Now whether he legally claimed it is somewhere on the other pages.
Gen. Lee (7588 D(B))
15 Mar 17 UTC
That all sounds good but even if you don't put up consideration you don't get basis and therefore you are not entitled to losses. You can't lose other people's money and take a deduction for it.
Ogion (3882 D)
15 Mar 17 UTC
Two issues. Yes, I suspect the capital gains are from real estate, logically, so no dividends there. As for the businesses, it still doesn't answer the questions about who he is in bed with. A full tax return would start to answer that but even then it would tell much.
Ogion (3882 D)

Also, campaign contributions are tax deductable so I think they would not show up

The best part of the over-hyped tax release was seeing FOX news shove it's nose even further up Trump's ass. Hannity was a wreck:
“This is a Fox News alert! We have more evidence of Obama deep state, shadow-government, hold-over saboteurs! They are breaking laws, all in an effort to delegitimize the newly elected President! Just a short time ago, one of the Trump-hating hosts over on NBC News, who is really one of the leaders of the alt-left, propaganda, destroy-Trump-at-all-costs media, well, she got her hands on President Trump’s two pages, of his 2005 tax return!”
Randomizer (722 D)

Rumor on CNN was that Trump leaked his own tax return pages to act as a diversion.
Matticus13 (2844 D)

This short interview with the journalist who broke the story addresses many of your questions, such as what the two pages told us, how Donald Trump gets away with claiming negative income to pay less taxes and whether Donald Trump leaked the pages himself. Good stuff! (I can't say how it compares to Rachel Maddow's interview, since I haven't seen it yet.)

The interview is split into two parts:
https://www.democracynow.org/2017/3/15/david_cay_johnston_speaks_out_about

Yeah, I liked the Democracy Now! interview much more than The Rachel Maddow Show. Rachel Maddow wastes so much of your time when you sit there and listen to her drone on, speaking so slowly, repeating herself, delving into long tangents that could be brought up more succinctly. Really annoying. Amy Goodman, on the other hand, asks poignant questions that quickly draw out relevant takeaways.

If anyone wants to read the original article put out by the reporter who broke the story, here it is:

I just read the original report from dcreport.org. Amazing! So many details – a lot of information there that Rachel Maddow failed to convey, yet could have turned into a whole episode.

Trumpcare - costs will be lower for everyone
MSM keeps failing to note that Trumpcare lowers the cost of healthcare for everyone by lowering PREMIUMS while reducing BENEFITS. If nothing is covered, then Republicans can lower premiums drastically, but that doesn't really solve the problem of healthcare does it?

Trumpcare predictions?
I predict that Ryan's bill will fail and that Trump will continue to sabotage Obamacare by excusing penalty payments until Obamacare fails. Once Obamacare fails, there's no need to repeal it. Trump will just blame the Democrats for "failed Obamacare" and for failing to work with him on a plan to save it.
