Any predictions about Lada Gaga and the Superbowl?
Who wants to guess if she's going to go all Byonce and get political during the halftime show?

My guess: In the middle of her song, she'll start advocating for PPSC and announce an engagement to Krellin.

Heckling Feature Request
It's fun to observe games, but would be even more fun if there was a sideboard to heckle and commentate on games by people who aren't actually part of the game. This would be particularly interesting for those games among top players.

Iran announces it is abandoning the US dollar
http://theantimedia.org/iran-ditched-dollar-us-matters/

This could be the start of A) war with Iran (though they will come up with other excuses to sell it to the public) or B) a collapse in the value of the US dollar - which could result in many other countries abandoning it as a reserve currency (which is a threat to national security, hence A)

Was Jesus a Vampire?
I was curious, if Jesus was a vampire, like most scholars now assume; was he malkavian, ventrue, brujah, toreador, nosferatu or tremere?

Hey guys
I am redhouse, I used to play and debate here. I might play and debate again. But I have another question: Who knows a lot about C++? I may have some questions that seem trivial to those who know.

How does muting work?
I've never muted someone in a game before. Therefore, I am quite ignorant about how it works. Clearly if player A is muted by player B, B won't receive any messages from A while they're muted. What happens when B unmutes A? Do all the messages A sent to B while B had A muted suddenly appear, or are they lost forever?

New game Classic
Just went to a FTF tourney. Was fun. Want to play some more classic using the standard tourney rules (except of course 1 Day turns instead of 12 minutes).

Set it at 101d to filter for more reliable players. If that's too steep but you like the rest, chime in here, and I will make a new one with lower bet.

teacon7, I can't help but point out that the only reason the US didn't intervene to save Christian lives in Syria was that the Republicans took the unprecedented step of applying their policy of rejecting any cooperation with Obama into the foreign policy sphere.

http://www.newsweek.com/strikes-during-obamas-presidency-killed-many-117-civilians-545080

If your computer can handle the ads and general bandwidth destruction of Newsweek online, you'll find that the Obama administration killed just upwards of 3,000 people with drone strikes during his time in office. They claim that most of them were combatants. I, on the other hand, tend to think that they fire those rockets without regard for civilians and simply label anyone within 50 feet of a suspected terrorist to be somehow associated with them, or basically just label anyone in the blast radius that isn't a small child a combatant. Regardless, millions? No.

the easiest way is to count the legs and divide by two.

i'm guessing ND did something similar except with exponents and delusion
SantaClausowitz (360 D)

considering that there have been 540 drone strikes in Obama's presidency, so according to shit for brains 1851 civilians were killed per drone strike.

In case anyone wants a real number of civilians killed, the number is placed at 342

Nice

@James, don't forget the tiny fraction of three legged dead terrorists. Generally rare as they can run faster than most bombs due to, ...you know .....the extra leg.

Sometimes throws off the "divide by two" body count a little.

@Condescension: Obama authorized the drone strike on Anwar al-Aulaqi, a US citizen born in New Mexico, in 2011. There were complaints about violation of his 5th Amendment rights, but it was mostly ignored because he was considered a terrorist. Frankly, it scares the crap out of me. Anyone deemed an enemy of the US, citizen or non, already stands no chance of a fair trial. There has been precident for execution of US citizens without the benefit of a trial for 6 years now. Terrorist is a pretty broad term. Yikes.

Wow, 1851 civilians killed per drone strike? Those are some well aimed drones. Kind of like the single bullet that takes out 3 people at once.
ND (879 D)
01 Feb 17 UTC
@Condescension: Last I checked I told you to look some facts up about refugees or immigrants from the restricted countries. The facts pertained to the amount of those individuals who were arrested before they could commit a terrorist action. You never did. Please do so, thanks.

@Bo: No. Obama drone striked for 8 years. He launched a war in Libya. He was running guns and covert operations in Syria. He had covert operations in Yemen, Pakistan, etc. The amount of innocent civilians that died either directly or indirectly through his actions are in the hundreds of thousands if not millions.
JamesYanik (548 D)
01 Feb 17 UTC
it's about 6 per drone strike, and there generally isn't great collateral damage.

sucks if you're tall though. Bin Laden was 6'5" and if you were tall in relation to the other people around you, you got deemed a high priority target.

^ disgusting. When Trump does it it's an outrage. When Obama does it it's a joke, apparently.

@James: How many people died in Syria through arms that we provided 'Syrian Rebels' and ISIS? Anyone dead from that conflict and dead from an arm provided by the U.S. is an indirect casualty of Obama's catastrophic foreign policy.

Anything to dig at Obama, even if it means trying to claim he killed millions of people, is fair game.
ND (879 D)
01 Feb 17 UTC
@Bo: So you deny that any arms given to 'Syrian Rebels' or ISIS (when they were just working to fight Assad's regime) by the United States is not an indirect consequence of Obama's foreign policy?

I would say that the administration that gave military grade weapons to un-vetted groups is definitely responsible for any loss of life that those groups caused.

Wouldn't you?
JamesYanik (548 D)
01 Feb 17 UTC
@ND

i'm not sure the USA were even 10% of weapons source for ISIS, so millions is probably exaggerated though.
ND (879 D)
01 Feb 17 UTC
It's my estimate, but it's based on casualty figures from the Syrian Civil War and other known military actions in Libya and across the Middle East/Afghanistan/Iraq.

It's impossible to know the exact number, but we know that it was high and probably higher than Bush or any of Obama's predecessors going all the way back to Johnson/Nixon. Johnson/Nixon were definitely responsible for more civilian casualty's than Obama.

Now let's see how Trump does.
JamesYanik (548 D)

we got 470000 from Syria, 25000 from Libya, 26,000 in the entire Iraq war, with related deaths up to 360000, and 61000 pakistani killed since 2001

notice these dates overlap with Bush

assuming it's 100% Obama that's not even 1 million.

Your figures?
bo_sox48 (5202 DMod(G))
01 Feb 17 UTC
No, ND, I don't absolve them of responsibility, but foreign arms deals have been going on since, uh, forever, and people have been getting killed as a result of them since, uh, forever. That's what this country does. Obama, Bush, Clinton, first Bush, Reagan, on and on and on, all had semi-disastrous weapons deals. Trump will too. Bank on it.
ND (879 D)
01 Feb 17 UTC
The Syrian dates don't overlap with Bush because the war started after he left office. Libya happened after Bush left office.

You left out Afghanistan and several other theaters.

Trump isn't going to meddle in foreign wars? God, ND, do you have any clue how our government works? (I already know the answer to that.) We literally have a military machine called the Pentagon running the show. It's not like Trump didn't appoint anyone capable of advising him on military affairs. He will absolutely meddle in foreign affairs - already is with Mexico, already had with China. You're insane to think he's just going to keep all of our troops here.
