My ex hasnt contacted me
So its been since August that she got thrown in jail and totalled her car. My ex has my phone number and she just opts to no longer talk to me. In our last conversation she tells,me I am psycho but I am too good at expressing my emotions.

Being a Diplomat
I've finally hoarded enough points to achieve the elusive label of "Diplomat" on my profile again. For some reason though, I'm not really all that thrilled with the "upgrade" from the previous rank.

I left out a bunch of religions yes. I couldn't remember them all. You can add Deism, Sikhism, Jediism, Ancient Fertility Cults, or whatever you want when you rank them.

Also, just curiously. I remember a few months ago the mods locked a thread that they considered troll-y on feminism, and is this thread not the same thing? Wondering if there is any solid policy on what gets locked and what doesn't.

Why? It'd certainly be more productive that anything being discussed here.

You might not be religious, but I'm very interested in what other people's thoughts are on the different religions, and which ones they view more positively and negatively.

I'll tell you, people view their own religion favourably and then rank the ones that conflict with theirs less, and then finally they dislike/hate the ones they're taught go against their morals (regardless of this being true) and then there is a special tier for religions they think are jokes.

Christians don't tend to have many conflicts with Jews nowadays.

Like, at the point where Islam and Christianity have the most in common but leon ranks one on top and the other at the bottom...

Buddhism is awfully interesting, but I find it odd that you put Hinduism so much lower than Buddhism, Flum, since they share a lot on a religious, historical, and geographical level.

I completed my religion minor awhile back. Does that mean anything? I lean no, but most religions big and small are fairly interesting.

I am pretty sure Buddhism gets a lot of... uninformed love. Not to insult my fellow webDippers, who in my experience are actually better-informed as a group than the average American or Westerner more broadly put. But Buddhism gets a lot of "pop" following from people who hear a few cool phrases and have a very surface-level understanding of Zen and decide that it's cool.

That's actually the main reason I didn't list anything, because I'm totally one of those people and know it and would totally rate Buddhism highly for no defensible reason.
Fluminator (1500 D)

I admittedly don't know a lot about Hinduism. In fact, I know almost nothing and it's probably next on my list to research.
But I have heard about the caste system which destines someone in life to a certain path they may not want, which I do not think is how the world should work, and it sounds almost like a way to placate the menial workers who want a better lot in life.
^meant to point out that I expect Hinduism is also inaccurately rated because people don't really know about it. All I really remember is the caste system and the concept of reincarnation, both of which don't make me think it's an especially solid system of beliefs. But I know I'm ignorant about it so I don't want to rank it or even take a strong position on that.
grumbledook (569 D(S))

Hinduism is the coolest because they have multi-armed blue gods. And Kali.

As far as ranking them I'm going to put Muslims at the top of the list because in my experience holy shit do they put out a good spread!

But really, what is ranking the religions going to prove? I know awesome Christians, awesome Jews, and awesome Muslims. I know shitty Christians and shitty atheists. The pagans I've known have always been weirdos. In all cases their religion has nothing to do with how nice/good/kind/fun they are.
Fluminator (1500 D)
28 Nov 16 UTC
I'm not asking you to rate the followers. There are obviously good people in all religions.
I'm mainly interested in the doctrines, and fundamental beliefs of the world/god/self etc.
I have a feeling people are misreading the op to mean rank the followers.
grumbledook (569 D(S))

Fine. Hinduism. Again - blue gods, multiple arms, pantheism, etc etc.
MajorMitchell (1874 D)

Well if you're going that way Grumbledook, you're certainly touching on a fantastic array of deities.. Go for gold.. Shiva the cosmic dancer..
There's a lot in the way the Greeks related to their classical God's, not always good to men and women, the gods have faults etc like Pandora's box, one of the curses is hope
Get the God or Deity appropriate to your need I suppose. Eg when I'm having problems with one truly sired by Beelzebub, the fire breathing MemSahib, Her Indoors, there's always trusty old Hymen the Greek / Roman Deity of Marriage ...more Roman than Greek I think for assistance in taming the shrewish slapper of the sofa

I am extremely sceptical about there being any real value in Islam. The Koran is more an opportunistic political ideology dressed up as a monotheistic religious "Bible" based partly on the religion it responds to and mimics.. Christianity and the political needs of the Arabic people's of the time.
It has, imho a deceptive false window dressing of concocted psuedo intellectual enlightenment, that disguises an extremely conservative, patriarchal, repressive .manifesto and repressive, totalitarian theocratic political model
JECE (1248 D)

Fluminator: Atheism is the absence of a specific belief. So no, not close enough to a 'set of beliefs'.

Soloing without building fleets
I'm curious how often powers can solo without building an additional fleet. I'm also wondering which powers could accomplish this feat. From what I can think of, there are only two powers that could accomplish it, Austria and Russia.

Obama tried same thing as Trump and got blocked
Obama repeatedly tried to give tax breaks for companies that "insource' jobs to the U.S. from overseas while eliminating tax deductions for companies that move jobs abroad.

Trump to dump Pence after inauguration?
After appointing a Supreme Court justice and a big tax cut, Trump might be replaced by Pence (due to conflict of interest of biz dealings), but what if Trump replaced Pence with a Democrat first? Then Trump is immune from investigation because Pence is no longer there to replace him. Genius?
