We could also decide to make the first round Civ 5 and the second round Civ 6, which starts as soon as Civ 6 is out. Gives a clear deadline which most could agree to, anyway.

I vote hybrid too but basically both options are annoying.
Not sure how pit boss works but it sounds like a good solution in theory.

Never used it, but reading online, the difference is that the AI doesn't take over if someone disconnects and you can rejoin at any time?
So in theory, someone could check in every few minutes.

You'll need brave new world and gods and Kings at a minimum, doshy. The other small expansions with Spain. Etc would be a plus

I've done a bit of research and it seems most balanced is 6 player FFA. But it might be better to do 4 player just because we may not have enough.

Also, I'm thinking that only wins be given points. Second place is a bit too arbitrary depending upon what first place does and how soon each game ends

Can you summarize what you/we decided so far? It sounds like you're rounding up the decisions but I feel like I don't know a lot of things yet. I trust you completely, just curious :P

Are we doing a ladder tournament? Are we using the same civ-picking system? Pitboss or no pitboss? Maps, raging barbs? Any of that decided upon?

6 *does* sound like a nice number but it's also a tricky one. I'd love to play a 6-player game.

I'd play if CiV wasn't so awful and buggy with multiplayer.

My experience with Civ Multiplayer has been pretty good. Certainly not flawless, but I've probably played entire games of multiplayer Civ without complaints.

Every single time I've tried to join one, it's crashed before I even got into the game.
