Don't panic Mr Cameron .... just keep calm and carry on
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-28967904
Cameron is so arrogant he won't change but today it was announced that net migration to the UK was 243,000 last year, Cameron has promised 50,000. He and his Old Etonian cronies seem to be the only people that don't realize there is a problem ..... he talks tough but acts like a pussy !!

Behaviorism
According to Wikipedia, “The behaviorist school of thought maintains that behaviors as such can be described scientifically without recourse either to internal physiological events or to hypothetical constructs such as thoughts and beliefs.”

Do you think this is appropriate? If so, does that make you optimistic or pessimistic about the prospects for human happiness?

Er, what about Apple? Starbucks? Those are large corporations which pay practically no tax.
Where are you getting this information from? According to their most recent audited financial statements, apple expensed 13.118 million in taxes on 50 million of rehvenues. While this was not necessarily paid in the period, they also have a 3.5 million dollar future tax asset, which means they have unused deductions - basically they overpaid somewhere along the line.

What makes you think these corporations are doing things illegally? Are you just that paranoid?
Sorry, I was off a few zeroes - those are all in billions.

flat tax is not shit, and i would agree 0-20,000 in annual income probably should not pay...as for people like those that are already below the poverty line, we have plenty as is, that are already reaching back into federal and local governments for hand outs...everyone needs skin in the game....
krellin (80 DX)

ssorn /\ Yes, take a "minimum" income off the top (for *everyone*) and then flat after that.

@Krellin
Yeah, that was actually pretty much what I was thinking.
@Lando
Fortune 500 companies, including Apple, have more than $1.6 trillion in profits parked offshore, according to multiple recent studies. By keeping that money overseas, companies are able to avoid paying U.S. taxes on the profits.
I was looking at their consolidated statements.

You need to educate yourself before you make these statements - you are simply wrong.
phil_a_s (0 DX)

*Their* consolidated statements. There is absolutely no reason to trust that the profits they parked offshore have been taxed already. There is no reason to believe a consolidated statement of a company barely capable of cooking the books.

Done deal - from what I hear this moring, BK is getting TH's. another blow to the US tax roles.
bo_sox48 (5202 DMod(G))
26 Aug 14 UTC
Yes, BK is the first major company to leave the country, it's a situation we've never encountered before. Ahhhh.
They were audited Phil. Do you not believe in that process? Are you so paranoid you think the sec is out to get you?

Also krellin read what I wrote above. The impact on us tax revenue will NOT be significant.

Fuck it's frustrating when retards think they understand things. You people are waste cases.

26 Aug 14 UTC
BK is the first to leave? lol Moronic. Apple has set up shell corporations overseas that they lease their own technology from, as one example. Pull yourhead out of the sand.'

As for "minimal impact"...uhhh...there should be *NO IMPACT*....BECAUSE US corporations should not be forced through bad financial policy to leave in the firt place!!

Get a life Lando.

And it's not JUST corporation leaving and setting up shop elsewhere...it is ALSO the corproations that never come here int he FIRST place!
krellin (80 DX)
26 Aug 14 UTC
Putin - I dont' think anyone disagrees that everyone should pay taxes - nor is that the topic of discussion.
krellin (80 DX)
26 Aug 14 UTC
Putin - anyway - you yourself should recognize that corporate taxes only get passed on to the consumer, and therefore, in effect, effect the poor more than the rich. Basic economics...If you think poor should pya less taxes, and yet everyone of every income level pays the same amount of "hidden" taxes in the cost of a product - then the poor are harmed more by corporate "taxes" (which are not corporate at all, but are hidden consumer taxes).

"According to their most recent audited financial statements, apple expensed 13.118 million in taxes on 50 million of rehvenues."

Which document are you looking at?

According to Apple's document, they say this:

"The Company’s effective tax rates for both periods differ from the statutory federal income tax rate of 35% due primarily to certain undistributed foreign earnings, a substantial portion of which was generated by subsidiaries organized in Ireland, for which no U.S. taxes are provided because such earnings are intended to be indefinitely reinvested outside the U.S."

According to Apple's document, they paid 3.595 billion in income taxes for the three month period ending in March 2014, when they made over 45 billion in sales and have a gross margin of nearly 18 billion.

ILN (100 D)

Of course i'm happy, call me whatever you like, but here are my reasons:

Burger Kind and Tim Hortons will have an HQ in Canada, paying taxes to us (Yay Canada :P)

Both BK and Tim Hortons will grow because of their collaboration = more jobs and revenue to Canadians/Canada

Tim Hortons will now more easily expand into the US (it's already moved down the border into Buffalo and around the great lakes

And, the best part, Tim Hortons lunch menu will be improved with BK know-how. (it really needed some improving)

Then of course I'm also happy for BK as they get to keep more of their money instead of having it robbed.

On the other side, i'm a bit upset that Ontario (in socialist Canada, lol) is a better place for business than capitalist America......... America really needs to get it's shit in order, 35% corporate tax is a joke.

Easy. Quite all-inclusive except domain registration. That’s £5,99/month or $9.93/month. International transactions cost a bit too. Prices change. You can make me a personal offer. What would happen if...
What would happen if I convoy an army from Belgium to Holland using my fleet in the north sea as well as order my other fleet at Holland to move to Belgium, simultaneously?
Is this possible?

PS: I know it would be same as ordering F:Hol->North Sea, F:North Sea-> Bel, A:Bel->Hol; but just curious. ;)

Gunboat support moves
I'm in a no messaging anonymous player game where I was dislodged because one player supported another into my territory. How common is it that without messaging a player would know the exact move to make to assist another? Should I report this to the mods? It just seems suspicious as there theoretically shouldn't be a way for the two players to communicate....

Until recently, when you had posted in a thread, a star would appear next to the thread title on your screen, so that when you were scanning the forum, you'd quickly be able to see which threads you were involved in.

Now those little stars are gone. How come?
