Orwell vs. who, Chaqa?

I guess we'll go with ghug's seeding, so it'd be Orwell vs. Dickens?

Both are great, but Dickens is the undisputed champ of his era in terms of novelists (in English, at least) whereas Orwell...one of many greats, but by no means as dominant as Dickens. Add to that the fact that, after Shakespeare, Dickens arguably has the most memorable and influential lineup of characters of any author in English--David Copperfield, Oliver Twist, Ms. Havisham, Fagin, the Artful Dodger, Little Nell, Sidney Carton, etc.--and I think he has to win here.

We'll track this match-up until 9pm PST tomorrow, since we got a late start today.

(And that way, it gives a chance to all the folks who voted Orwell early to transfer their vote to Chuck D. or reaffirm their stance with Eric Blair.)

No, like I said, it's Orwell vs. Dickens rather than Orwell vs. Woolf because of ghug's seeding, and we'll extend voting for this one through tomorrow so all the Orwell-ites can recast for Orwell or switch over to Dickens, since Dickens/Orwell is arguably a different choice than Orwell/Woolf.

If that were the case, then the 1st and 2nd seed would potentially play each other in the second round. They should play each other in the final round. Which means that I did mess up (and will correct it shortly), but that all of my first round matchups are correct. The winner of 1 v 64 plays the winner of 32 v 33, 2 v 63 plays 3 v 62, and so on...

That should follow the "march madness" format. Someone should still check on it, since I seem to be making a lot of mistakes.

Giving squigs's bracket a quick once-over, it appears correct to me, apart from some unusual positioning (which is utterly unimportant other than its possible influence on voting days).

Yeah, when I messed up and then re-did it, the positioning got screwed up in order to save time. You can still do it in whatever order you want though.
