So this is probably off topic by this point, but...
Dear ND,
I can kind of see why you'd be so pleased with Trump to this point ND. While I don't approve of 95%+ of his platform I can respect that he's making the effort to follow through on it, and I can see why someone who did like his platform would be excited to see him taking action.
However ND, I cannot comprehend why you consider the gag order on the EPA and the USDA-ARS to be a good thing. Whether your like what they've been focused on researching or not, you've already paid for their research with your tax dollars. You should be able to hear about what they've done with that money and what they've found. (Also, they do some important shit, I like drinking clean/safe water, Flint is an example of what happens when the EPA fucks up. Although their ability to talk to the public is not necessarily critical for that.
Furthermore the USDA-ARS division is responsible for publishing resources that are useful for assessing agriculture issues, and providing useful information to farms/farmers around the country. We're talking recommendations for crops to plant, information about new varieties, new practices. This is important shit, that your taxes are paying for, that is useful to primary producers in many rural counties. I simply don't understand how you look at that and go, great, lets keep them from sharing their research with the people who use it.
Hopefully these restrictions are temporary while the new administration gets settled in. Even as a temporary policy though its misguided, and frankly abhorrent. I don't understand why you'd be happy about it.
Even if you feel both organizations need an overhaul for efficiency reasons, you've already paid for the work they've done, get your moneys worth.
Sincerely
damian
