2011 Masters, Temporary Sub needed

longest games

Hi, I'm a player in Wittlesbach Interruption and we are on Spring 1916. Since I've started playing online Diplomacy I've noticed most games end around 1907 give or take a year. We're at 1916 and the leading player has only 11 SC. We are also on our third leader in this game. Anyone else play a very long game?

Regular reports of cheaters in games posted on the forum

Here's a little bit of advice for all the new / inexperienced guys out there. If you do your homework before or at the start of a game, you don't have to worry about joining these types of games becoming a problem. What I mean by "doing your homework" is to check the profile of the guys with whom you're playing (so long as it isn't an anonymous game). Here are some things on what to look for:

did the zero SC survive get fixed or do you have to have a unit to get it?

I just took a nations last SC for the win, but they got eliminated. I physically took it in the spring forcing a disband so I'm guessing you either have to have a unit to get the survive or the problem was fixed.

The thought crossed my mind Doofman, but I didn't think could secure the solo without risking handing it to Germany. Nicely played LittleBigMatt- glad we were able to work towards the 3-way pretty effectively. Actually thought you were Ava as I've rarely seen Germany hit Austria with Russia (Ava and I were in a game where IKE did a splendid job of this- hence my assumption). It seems that their is a fair amount of paranoia about others figuring out who you are and not a lot of success in actually doing so (this is based on my experience and from what I've heard from others).

I was rather relieved he headed south rather than east (eek!)- Ava was playing a very solid game, but once he was getting hit by 3 foes (Germany, Russia, and Turkey) at once, I'm not sure what chance he had. Oh, and sorry, ashen_shugar/Turkey. I ended up turning on you since Germany was my best bet towards securing a 3-way.

lol, doofman, glad you finally pressed draw. This was my favorite game of the series. Facing E and F while Russia threw everything he had at me was rather intense. Favorite move of the series was supporting England to St. Pete's and taking Norway. gg, JCBryan- glad to have you as my wing man- nice job intuiting my moves during our take down of England as well as stalemating Doofman the Magnificent.

Yeah Ava, it was a bit of a rough tourney for you.. Don't go into hibernation though.. I ummed and ahhed with the taking of sevastopol, confirming and unconfirming a few times.. I decided on taking it as I figured it would do me more good than wrong..

Barn3tt yeah man I apologise for drawing it out for so long before pressing draw- I really really wanted to solo in that one though, I thought it was the best I played put of the three games
