It's generally the case that the GMs for any current game have the discretion to decide if a "must post" rule applies and, as you'll be well aware, the application of this rule has varied considerably. The members of the Mafia Grand Arbitration Council were aware of my intention to apply a "must post at least once" at night rule.

To an extent I'm sorry that it's necessary but I believe it is.

Yes. You'd be modkilled because ending on an "UNVOTE" is not allowed. That's not something I've introduced. It has been the rule for the last few games. I have not changed that rule.

The rule that you are not allowed to end on an "UNVOTE" (but you ARE allowed to vote "No Lynch") was part of the rules used in M25, and M24. It was, in fact, stated in the rules of M23, which you GM-ed.

I quote from your own "RULES" post at the start of M23:

"Each player in the game must vote at least once per day; additionally, each player must end the day voting for a player - no ending the day on ‘unvote’."

No. That post would be just about sufficient to meet the night's "must post" requirement. I've just discussed this with Chaqa and we were in agreement that a post like that, while it doesn't achieve much, does at least demonstrate that you're present, and you know which phase it is. That achieves the desired effect of preventing Guakking.

Yes, you are allowed to vote "no lynch". You simply aren't allowed to end the day without having voted at all, or with your vote set to "UNVOTE".

Cool. Happy I've been able to clarify. It's really just there to prevent people wandering off for entire phases at a time - which happened in the last game, to the detriment of the game (and for which Guak is now serving a temporary ban).

GM NOTE: Further to the queries raised yesterday by Bo_Sox48, Chaqa and I have determined that no replacements will be used from the start of Night 3 onwards.

Up to the end of Day 3, replacements will be permitted. Once EoD 3 has fallen, we are very likely to simply Modkill anyone who is unable to continue the game. We have accepted Bo's argument that adding a new player to the game when 2-3 days have already elapsed is problematic both for them and for overall game balance.

The reason just that it is nicer to get the case right in printouts and presentations. Maybe RagingIke will be pissed at me if I spell it RAGINGIKE or ragingike instead of only having R and I in upper case. Maybe Ike had some thought behind R and I so it is better/safer to keep it the way he wanted it from the start...
