I contest the results of my bracket. The board had conceded to me before HR's victory.

I asked "Can we end this now" and the only response received was "No, we must play for 2nd place play-in." I took that as a concession for first place victory to me, as I was 20 techs ahead of the board at the time.

Such a fucking hilarious clutch. Stockpiled 6000 gold and casually passed World Religion + Ideology without people paying any attention to me at all because goldie was basically two eras ahead in tech. 28 delegates required; 28 delegates bought with 2700 gold spare to counter any buyback attempts.

I said "We can't Concede". That you fell for diplomacy style press afterwards when I mentioned 2nd place mattering is your own problem. I did not concede at any point; so deal with it. I wasn't going to shout from the rooftops "No, because I'm going to diplo-victory LOLOLOL" - nor should I have had to. You knew the WL vote was coming up 7 turns beforehand. You could've checked the Congress screen to see I had 20 delegates out of 28 and there were 4 city states that I hadn't allied. You could've checked the trade screen to see I had 6500 gold and 250 per turn.

You didn't.
You failed.
You lost.

You shouldn't have lost, but you did. The Hare & The Tortoise spring to mind. You won't get so cocky again because you'll remember this, but hey, you've only got yourself to blame here.

Also, two players (brainbomb and myself) were disconnected and didn't have control over our countries while HR was buying the city-states. Yes, we only had 1200 gold between us. But had we sold units/buildings we could've raised far more gold than HR (who had no units and far fewer buildings than me)

Because prior to that 7 turn warning, I thought I had the board's concession for victory, HR.

Which would be great if you'd realised that turn that I was diplo victoring - which you STILL UTTERLY FAILED TO DO.

And you did not have enough gold or buildings to sell to overtake my stockpile.
