@OBG, yes, directing a lynch on someone is good for anyone on a small team. The problem with your logic is that it rules out exactly nobody.
- Cult, Masons, and Mafia are most obvious. They are all on small teams and they know their teammates.
- Traitors and Town PRs are also on small teams. They just want to survive the day. Directing a lynch on anyone else is equally good for them. Sure a Town PR might inadvertently direct a lynch on a fellow Town PR, but they are never going to have any idea today who the other Town PRs are anyway, so they should be trying to do the exact same thing as the Traitors, direct a lynch onto anyone but them.
To say that directing a lynch is "best" for the cult is not probative. The move is consistent with literally every role.
@Y2K, when you say "rereading D1 will be a lot more useful" later, you should consider: "useful to whom." It is very unclear to whom it will be useful later. No matter what role you have, it is not at all clear that you want a big record on Day 1, even if all of this "scumhunting" right now were not utter nonsense (it is).
--- Really, nobody else wants to hammer? I think folks should consider again, and adjust to the game they are playing. This is not garden variety mafia.
