I think uclabb's definitely up there. We all know that I'm indisputably the smartest, so I don't see any point in discussing it further.

How much do you guys think intelligence correlates to diplomacy skill?

I think there are different kinds of intelligence, so that may be a difficult correlation to draw...

But whatever kind of intelligence it is...I need more, clearly, by the look of my record. :)

@obituary (hehehe) - intelligence =/= skill or even cunning. There are some very skilled athletes that are dumber than a box of mint in bubble wrap pet rocks. And there are some very bright folks who just can't communicate well.

Plus, as you rightly point out, there are many types of intelligence. I've never hidden my IQ here, but while the IQ is probably well up on the site's collective, I am an idiot when it comes to certain areas and there are many here who have a far brighter overall intellect than I. I'm just good at seeing patterns and problem.solving and that is all an IQ test really tests - how well you solve or recognize a pattern and apply what you learned to a similar but slightly different later pattern.

I have seen a lot of really intelligent people on here. Part of why I like the site. Even some of the nut jobs are pretty intelligent. Hell,even Obi is very intelligent. But, the Na thing about smart folk is that they get really good at defending bad ideas. My vote is for subutai.

I've mentioned it in the past. No need to rehash. Like many here, my SATs and ACTs were in the top 5 percentile with perfect math scores back in the early 80s. But there are seriously some grad students and long ago graduated advanced degrees who understand complex mathematics way beyond my level of Calculus and the likes and others here where my knowledge of physics looks like a 5 year old throwing things in the air with parachutes attached to them to see if they break when they hit the ground. So nothing to brag about in this esteemed company.

Surprise...I'm actually going to give Putin a nod for intelligence. While I think his ideology is...er...well...no so good...he has an amazing grasp of the things he seems to care about (even if his sources are historically perverted). This goes along with the "smart guys defending bad ideas" comment.
