Morality
Here's a situation I ran across a few days ago and I wanted to know your guys opinions on whether it was immoral or not. remember, the question is not whether it's moral, but rather if it's immoral or neutral. And please explain why or why not. Read further:

Prove Yourself in World Gunboat
Hey guys, I'm loving the world diplomacy gunboat games I've been playing recently, and I'd like to get a good solid game going with high stakes for those interested. I started a game named same as this thread, and wanted to advertise the game here. I'm really hoping that the bannings that have happened recently in a few of the games I'm in have gotten rid of the cheaters, so that we can have a true anonymous gunboat game without any metagamers joining.

My shame.
Other than occasionally laughing at a fortress door joke. At pub trivia tonight I missed the first diplomacy question I've ever heard at a trivia night.

An elected European President
In another thread, I argued that the role of President of the European Council and the role of President of the European Commission (the EU's "government") should be merged and that this person should be elected by an EU-wide election.

Can anyone in Michigan explain the opposition to the new bridge?
From a Hoser's point of view, it seems like a no-brainer. Wondering if there's actually a reasonable explanation for the opposition. http://news.nationalpost.com/2012/10/23/greedy-u-s-billionaire-urges-michigan-voters-to-reject-free-bridge-to-canada/

Suggestion
It's probably a dumb idea, but I'll propose it anyway. A "Repeat Last Turns' Orders" button would be useful when you have a lot of units, it is towards the end of the game, and you are simply support holding across the map for a couple of turns, waiting for a draw.

Mitt Romney: The 45th President
Polls and common sense are now showing that Romney will win. From the states that Obama carried in 2008, Romney has three: Indiana, North Carolina, Florida; completely locked up. He is ahead in Virginia, Colorado, and New Hampshire, and within the margin of error in Iowa, Wisconsin, Nevada, Pennsylvania. Meanwhile, all the states that went for the GOP in 2008 are Solid Romney. With 2 weeks left, Romney is in an increasingly strong position to take the White House.

GG all.
@Gen.Lee & Rokakoma-Glad we could get our shit together last couple of years.Thought to myself must move to the line and hope Turkey and Italy see it.
If not was prepared to throw game to England.

Well, I think we had the appropriate timing on this one, a perfect cooperation among the weak countries.

2WL, congratulations anyways, nice job with england! I'm glad you couldn't win :D

yeah, the amount of armies he got going as england was impressive.

The coordination by the rest of you was equally impressive, as was your ability to get rid of France and Russia without insisting on keeping them alive. FYI, I'm playing like shit in the rest of the games, so don't expect another big one out of me :)
rokakoma (19138 D)
14 Sep 12 UTC
@2wl, I'm playing shitty in the others as well, so there must be someone being very good :)
Currently I don't see how will I make 35 D out of the 7 games, which is the average as we all know ... :(
Gen. Lee (7588 D(B))
14 Sep 12 UTC
It looks like a solo will win the tournament and there is one game in particular that seems inevitable it will end that way. I've probably said too much, should have another few games ending here soonish.

CSteinhardt - 0 SCs as England = 0 pts
2ndWhiteLine - 0 SCs as Austria = 0 pts
Nigeebaby - 0 SCs as Turkey = 0 pts

---- Overall standings after games #2, #6 ----

Gen. Lee - 18 pts

As for a little Eog:

It was a pleasure to work with italy. I generally think Russia/Italy allince is always good. But my position started to detoriate, also I was an easy stab for italy (which luckily didn't happen), but since I saw I'm detoriating, also Italy will lose munich, and everybody except italy, was voting draw, I decided to stab italy on purpose to force a draw vote from him, before I get eliminated. It seems it worked before germany could have cancelled his vote :)

I think you mean game 5 as the other one. I've managed quite a large number of misorders in this tournament, and game 5 is probably the worst of it. Remind me never to try this from my phone again! :)

15 Sep 12 UTC
Yes, game #5, Gen. Lee's original post confused me...

Well, CSteinhardt, don't worry I still don't see how I will pull out the rabbit from the hat and make at least 35 D ... :(

GG #6.As Germany helped Russia in north against England only to see him try for me.
France and I where at as well.Glad when Russia and Italy decided to play kissing cousins in Balkans that Italy went for France freeing me up to deal with Russia.
When Italy went for me in Munich thought I was dead again.
But then Russia/Italy fell apart and last two turns where lets see what happens.Lucky things worked in my favor.

GG ya'll. I thought about dropping my draw vote, but decided better of it.
Gobbledydook (1389 D(B))
15 Sep 12 UTC
I didn't really want to stab Russia before I could secure 18 supply centres. I might have tried the turn after I took Munich, but Munich was too easy to lose and I'd be stuck with a 4-way anyway.
If only Russia had more success in the north...
Gen. Lee (7588 D(B))
15 Sep 12 UTC
Yeah I was surprised you didn't do it earlier. Russia had more room for expansion than Italy if he could have grabbed a few quick units.
Gobbledydook (1389 D(B))
15 Sep 12 UTC
The problem was I only had 18 if either I got Marseilles, or StP, or Munich. I hoped for Marseilles but I was too slow so I then went for Munich. Unfortunately the window for the stab had disappeared by then.
rokakoma (19138 D)

Guys, since we will probably have at least one solo, the way we count points might result anomalies, since there are rounding errors. In which case for example 4 pcs. of 4-way draws would result 36 D for a player participating in each draw, while a solo will get only 35 D.

What I suggest is to add points to each player as 35/x where x is the number of participants in the draw. Therefore the points change as follows: (points are in order of game#, as 2wl finished game #5, gobble finished game #6, so points are written respectively)

---- Overall standings after games #5, #6 ----

Gen. Lee - 17,5 pts (35/4 +35/4)
Podium - 17,5 pts (35/4 +35/4)
Rokakoma - 17,5 pts (35/4 +35/4)
2ndWhiteLine - 8.25 pts (35/4 + 0)
Gobbledydook - 8.25 pts (0 + 35/4)

GG #2.
Well earned solo 2ndWhiteLine.
Tried at end to stop you in east at the end.If only in spring 10 Italy would have seen that Rumania's support would be cut to Bud so it had to be the attacking unit.
And again in fall 10 thought you would sit on Rum and not try for Ser.You would be at 17 now with Italy and me in better postion.
Yeah the west was yours but your postion in east would be hurt.
