There's one thing about the War in Afghanistan that keeps bugging me. President Obama, as commander-in-chief, could order all troops out of Afghanistan tomorrow if he wanted to. So why doesn't he, if the majority of the American people want him to do so? He is liberal, and liberals, libertarians, and even non neo-conservative conservatives are screaming for withdrawal. It would also boost his approval rating enormously. He's also at risk of losing a lot of votes to Ron Paul if Ron Paul gets the Republican nod.

I believe that the American military high command is begging him to stay in Afghanistan. I believe that the military/Obama knows something about the situation in Afghanistan that would make withdrawal a very bad decision.

I'm not a conspiracy theorist, I'm just saying that some people behind the scenes must really NOT want to leave Afghanistan.
