I've noticed a trend in posting announcements of births, deaths, birthdays etc on here, so thought we could keep them all together here?

Irritating move in gunboat game
Hello to all Diplomacy-Experts,
please have a look to the game gameID=15723 and the Turkish support for the italian convoy in 1903. Is this a normal move? Could Turkey anticipate this?
Thanks a lot for your comments.

So Moses, Jesus, Muhammad, and Richard Dawkins Walk Into A Bar...
Using that line as the opener... best joke wins! ;)

Who the fuck is Richard dawkins?!?
Richard Dawkins is a famous atheist. He wrote the book "The God Delusion", I believe.

And got a nice cup of FALCON PUNCH from the bartender, Captian Falcon, which sended them into non-existance.
Jesus turns everyone's wine into water. The bartender is ticked. Richard Dawkins uses this as the clinching proof that there is no God.
Moses leads them to the table and Jesus pays the tab; Dawkins replies "I can't believe you just did that".

MUhammad cracks a hissy fit when the somebody tries to take a picture of him, moses whines that nobody reads the old testament anymore , meanwhile jesus is talking to the local working girls at the bar trying to get them to change their ways while ignoring the pimp standing next to them , dawkins looking at the three sorry excuses for enlightenment asks," what i would give for a rational logical debate with somebody"
ottovanbis (150 DX)

Dawkins is big on the theory of evolution by natural selection I believe as well, I haven't read his book but I'm up for it.

"is talking to the local working girls at the bar trying to get them to change their ways while ignoring the pimp standing next to them"

wow, I am totally going to jack that for use as an analogy.

metaphor?... analogy... analogy? metaphor.....

Jesus turns everyone's wine into water, Moses turns everyone's water into blood, and Dawkins finds a cell he thinks led to life on earth, and Muhammad spazes as he sees his reflections....

i dunno. a good start to something, though

sean (3490 D(B))

Sicarius, yes i meant it as a Allegory, lots of Christian churches through history seem to be on the one hand moralizing peoples personal behavior, especially about sex while at the same time ignoring deeper social justice issues and instead joining the secular powers that be in controlling and repressing the majority.

... and the bartender says to Richard Dawkins, drinking alone tonight?
denis (864 D)
29 Nov 09 UTC
Jesus hooked up with a virgin with myrh ( sliperry). Mohammed slaughtered a guy for taking his picture. And Moses got high and started talking to a bush that he thought was on fire. And Richard dawkins...
What's a good punch line?

Oooh, intriguing jman - which one isn't there?
jman777 (407 D)
29 Nov 09 UTC
Jesus isn't there because Dawkins says God doesn't exist. =P
ottovanbis (150 DX)
29 Nov 09 UTC
jman, sorry but that makes no sense at all. dawkins is an atheist but he's not willing to refute historical evidence on the existence of jesus as a human. Hell this all hypothetical stuff anyway because three of the four are dead and gone
wydend (0 DX)

So Jesus, Muhammad, and Richard Dawkins walk into a bar. They drink into the night and get pretty hammered. Dawkins thinks of the wonderful idea that they should play Russian Roulette to prove that they are not all powerful. The others agree and the game begins.

Jesus points to his head and pulls the trigger...CLICK
Muhammad points to his head and pulls the trigger...CLICK
Moses points to his head and pulls the trigger...CLICK
Finally Dawkins points to his head and pulls the trigger...BOOM. He crumples to the floor dead.

A few seconds later his soul comes out of his body. He looks embarrassed and reluctantly asks them, "How do I get into heaven?"

They all shrug, and Jesus responds, "The hell if we know. We always thought you were right."
denis (864 D)
29 Nov 09 UTC
So Moses Jesus and Muhammed and Richard Dawkins have a hose party and invite Shiva and tell him to bring freinds. He did all of them.
It's been awhile since I read The God Delusion, but I think Dawkins does refute a historical Jesus.
Toby Bartels (361 D)
29 Nov 09 UTC
The evidence for a historical Jesus is pretty spotty, but it beats the evidence for a historical Moses hands down.

i dont know what to even say to this thread. it has to be the saddest one ive ever seen on this site. even before i became a christian, i would have been extremely hesitant to include jesus in any kind of joke.

the fool says in his hear there is no God and i firmly believe that anyone that has to spend thier whole life trying to disprove the existence of God is clearly trying to justify the idea for themself since they dont want to believe in God. After you choose to acknowledge God, you have to begin asking "who is He and what does He want" and people who refuse to acknowledge God i believe simply want to ignore the element of sin in their life.

Something fun I like to do:
I like to scroll through the move history and track to see what happened to my initial starting units (especially in long games). Some of their campaigns are quite amazing!

Finally I won my first game! And a live game at that...
After being on here for almost 5 months I've finally won a game. Surprising to me, it was a live game -- the first one I've ever played. Check it out if you'd like: http://webdiplomacy.net/board.php?gameID=16092
