this is not an advice thread more of just a thread to learn from other peoples personal experience and opinion

I'd say they're all lame. I drink occasionally and smoke some, but if I was smart I wouldn't do any of that mess.

I don't consider light drugs like pot/weed a possible addiction or problem.
I am addicted to chocolate and coffee but can smoke weed once a year or ten times in ten days if I feel like it and then just forger about it.
So, I tend to think drugs equals fun

Moderation in all things, including moderation.

I'd say it's probably best to not use any psychoactive drugs/chemicals, but like I said in my earlier post, I don't live up to that standard. Using such things is really quite silly (please don't try to start an argument if you disagree with that, look at my previous quote).

Personally, I don't like things that mess with my cortex. I can heal a broken bone, but once the brain is fucked up, the rest of your life is hosed.

Since I'm diabetic, I occasionally get low blood sugar, and I understand that the effects can mimic some of those that you get when intoxicated. Since I'm a cranky, mean son of a bitch when my sugar is low, I really have no desire to get wasted - I can grab a chocolate bar when my sugar drops, but it's not so easy to 'un-high' yourself if you're being an ass.

Ignoring for the time being the legality issue - which the libertarian in me thinks is a complete farce - the cost/benefit ratio just isn't there. Why try something that you *might* enjoy but might *also* completely destroy your life if you get hooked?

i think you should start with light drugs then try harder ones as time goes by. i tend to think that 21 is the best time to start with alcohol and weed, 26 for LSD, speed and cocaine and 30 for heroin

@stratagos - I can tell you as a fellow diabetic that alcohol does significatnly more than that to you and me. alcohol is a sugar inhibitor until it is metabolized, then it becomes a sugar, so getting drunk will lower your blood sugar sverely and, as the alcohol metabolizes, it'll send you the other way worse than an tall orange juice or a 20 oz. regular soft drink.

I think everyone should do a couple of lines of blow off a high end escort's ass at least once in their life.

I'm neutral on drugs, but I am curious at Thucy's stance towards smoking a hookah. You know it is only flavoured tobacco right?

I used to drink a ton of caffeine. 44oz of Pepsi on my way to work, another 44oz at lunch, and sometimes I grabbed one on the way home. Then money became tight and I couldn't afford the morning 44ouncer and man did I pay. I was useless at work. I hated feeling controlled by the caffeine.

I decided to go cold turkey, but to do so the next time I was sick. Usually when I was sick I would look forward to my first Pepsi after getting better. But this time, after getting over the withdrawal symptoms while sick, I just stayed away. I drank a lot of orange juice for the sugar so all I was really losing was the caffeine and then slowly reduced the orange juice.

I drink the occasional caffeine free root beer but otherwise drink water, milk, and juice. I do eat chocolate still so I'm getting some caffeine, but it is way less than what you get in pop.

I'm very happy to not be addicted to caffeine anymore. And the best part is all the money I have to spend on other things. I can't imagine spending the kind of money people spend on coffee, alcohol, weed and such. I've got better uses for it.

No way. Tobacco, especially hookah tobacco, does not contain Nicotine. Don't take the piss on my time!
But really, I only meant that Thucy seems to hold hookah in a lower regard than cigarettes, a much more accessible and more widely used form of the drug eh?

Nicotine is a wonderful drug. I wish I had a delivery system that worked for me. My lungs can't take the smoke, my sinuses can't take snuff. Don't want to ruin my mouth with chew.

It's flavoured water vapor that delivers nicotine and nicotine only. Great alternative to smoking, though no real point if you're not already scratching.

Shisha is my leaf of choice. It's not mobile, so I don't do it in public, it makes a great party gig and its easy on my body.

I used to smoke a pipe - amazing the concentration of nicotine in some blends - but can't do that anymore. Sigh. Drugs where have you gone ;_;
