Civ II was pretty good. Great wall, United Nations, go to space.

I loved civ 2.

Yeah, I won't be playing Civ6 :'(

I am more excited for the Skyrim Special Edition release.

Even though ill probably feel stupid later on for not just waiting until the GOTY version is released with all explansions included, ill probably be playing it this friday.

Just hoping its not too dumbed down yet again, seeing how beyond earth was a massive disappointment

You wanna talk about dumbed down? Please see Public Enemy #1: Civ 5. It improved on graphics, had hexes instead of squares, and made the 1 unit per tile system. Besides that, it was inferior and simpler in every way.

Civ 6 looks better, much better.

But im quite sure civ6 will be the same......if not, what are they going to fill the 2 mandatory expansions with?

Because there's literally only one way to play Civ 5. Build exactly 4 cities, put everything into science.

I distinctly remember beating you in civ 5 goldie. Something to do with an amazing diplomatic victory that nobody saw coming when you were aeons ahead in science... ;)

Chaqa, military, diplomatic and culture victories are also possible. I've either done them, or had them done to me. HR did, as he said, diplo win on me, and he and meme have both almost culture victoried on me.

Being too far ahead in science just means you get rushed down with comp bowmen or xbows

I think they're nerfing science pretty hard in Civ VI. You can plunder science buildings

They nerfed Diplo pretty hard. By removing it.

They removed it? That seems like a step back

I'm excited for civ 6. I have over 1000 hours on 5 and so far like the improvements and tweaks they have made to game play. However, I'm disappointed that the AI seems to have been marginally improved. Instead of giving them increased starting benefits and other cheats they opted to increase the AIs her yield. Basically 6 of one half dozen of the other.

It means they don't jump out as fast, but will steamroll you later on

They said that the Diplomatic Victory / World Congress stuff was going to be added in later (not as part of an Xpac, but just patched in) because it wasn't quite where they wanted it.

That's good news Chaqa. Diplomacy is pretty cool.

And yeah, I'm pretty sure I've pulled off every kind of victory in V. At the Chieftan level of course... ;)

Ahhh I want to play :( I just realistically don't have time until 2017.

Long weekend! Civ 6! Might have to give up my regular board games though... I think it's worth it!

I'm so hyped it's unreal. I played the shit out of V through all the expansions and love it. 6 looks like an improved V with a much better culture/gov system and of course the neat distribution of cities into districts.

I'm fine with removing diplo victory in favor of religious victory. Diplo victory was always just buying all the SCs and then accumulating enough votes to win. I found the cultural victory to be much more "diplomatic" in that you pretty much need good relations with everyone.

Civ 5 was OK ( still had like 800 hours in it...) but it was nowhere near the masterpiece that was Civ 4. Let's hope Civ 6 is the best.

Looking forward to it. Just now how do I balance that with Diplomacy, having a life, trying to get a business off the ground...
