With Zultar’s approval I spent some time digging through the sites Google Analytics and drew out what will hopefully prove to be valuable data for the community.

All of these comparisons focus on the time period of January 1st – September 30th in 2016 compared to the same period of time in 2015. Looking into this data you can draw various conclusions. The main points that I see though are that we are not doing as good a job at attracting people from facebook as we used too. Our reddit presence has increased though, as has twitter. We are losing people from countries that used to be our main user source but gaining users from countries we didn’t used to attract attention from.

If anyone would like a more detailed breakdown from another country, please let me know and I will try and accommodate. If you as a user are interested in helping the site some very simple actions you can take are to try and attract people on whatever social media platforms you use. Post links to the sites, to games you’ve enjoyed. Start retweeting #webDiplomacy, etc.

Is a "New User" essentially a unique IP address that accessed the site (as a guest or member) at at least one point in the time period? So I might count as 3 new users (phone, home internet and parent's internet) and a few hundred sessions?
